Sporting a bushy grey beard and more battle scars than we can count, if there’s one takeaway from Logan’s atypical marketing campaign – a campaign largely built on drip-feeding monochrome pictures to the masses via Instagram – it’s that after nine films across 17 years, Wolverine is fast losing his verve, thereby opening up a more vulnerable side to the enraged mutant. Indeed, that’s an arc that director James Mangold has touched on in the past, hence his decision to scale back the CGI and green screen for a more character-driven, and ultimately human, affair.

As much as this is Hugh Jackman’s vehicle, Mangold revealed to Empire that the up-and-coming Keane has a habit of stealing scenes opposite her male co-stars. Said he: “If anyone could steal a movie from Hugh Jackman, it would be Dafne. She carries, all the time, a slight strangeness. I could never have gotten this done without Hugh. You’re going to see him doing some of the best work I’ve ever seen him do.”

In tandem with the interview, CBM has grabbed a copy of Empire’s aforementioned color still for Logan, showcasing Jackman’s anti-hero lending a helping hand to a poorly Charles Xavier. It’s by no means the clearest of photos, but we’ll be sure to update this post if and when the outlet debuts the official picture.

Logan will herald Hugh Jackman’s final outing as the iconic Wolverine on March 3, 2017.
