They are the quintessential anti-heroes. The worst of the worst. The final port of call when all else fails. Meet the Suicide Squad, David Ayer’s regiment of bad guys that will be marching into theaters very soon indeed.

And so, as the Warner Bros. marketing machine continues to fire on all cylinders, a bevy of mugshots have found their way online via Entertainment Weekly, showcasing Task Force X, Amanda Waller and Jared Leto’s glowering Clown Prince of Crime in a new light.

From Will Smith’s Deadshot to Cara Delevingne’s mystical Enchantress – rumored to be the key villain underpinning David Ayer’s anticipated offshoot – they’re all here, and in the gallery above you can feast your eyes on mugshots for House of Cards star Joel Kinnaman, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as the menacing, unmistakable Killer Croc.

Considered by many to be the most-anticipated movie of the summer, it’s no secret that Ayer’s movie comes shackled with a hefty amount of expectations. Not until the lights dim on August 5 will we know for sure if the Fury filmmaker has pulled it off, but whatever the outcome, Ayer has succeeded in overhauling Task Force X, once an obscure and niche comic book group, into a team of A-listers.

“Two years ago Suicide Squad was a tertiary [DC property]. No one knew anything about it. It was a cool little playground, and I was going to go make my movie. Now it’s like the hype bus. All of the attention has swung onto it, and it has to carry a lot more weight than it was ever intended to. I think it can sustain it. But it’s a lot of pressure. You definitely feel the pressure.”

Suicide Squad makes a beeline for theaters on August 5 and just yesterday, we caught wind of a hoard of screenshots that depict Task Force X in action.
