The announcement of the impending The Princess Diaries 3 is the siren call for Millenials across the world. Finally, we will be getting the Mia Thermopolis trilogy that we always dreamed of.

The breakout role that made Anne Hathaway a household name, the Princess of Genovia herself is beloved in certain circles. After its premiere in 2001, The Princess Diaries only had one sequel, but it had the benefit of casting Chris Pine in the early stages in his career.

Before his own success as Captain James Tiberius Kirk in the J.J. Abrams Star Trek universe, he appeared in The Princess Diaries: Royal Engagement as Lord Nicholas Devereaux, a role that marked his film debut. If there is to be a sequel, it seems like common sense to add Pine to the cast list.

The Dungeons & Dragons actor has exploded in popularity since his role as Mia’s fiancé. As Hoda Kotb noted on Today With Hoda & Jenna, a movie without him doesn’t entirely make sense. Tragically, Pine itted he had not gotten a call about appearing in the highly anticipated sequel.

“Call Disney. Call [Disney CEO] Bob Iger. Honestly, I don’t know anything about it. I think it’s fantastic.”

Also stating that a new Princess Diaries film could “save the world,” Pine showed nothing but for the project. While his lack of attachment is disappointing, it’s important to note that this may not be the end of the story.

Chris Pine may yet be cast in The Princess Diaries 3

It has been two decades since the last Princess Diaries hit theaters, but ion for the project hasn’t waned. Hathaway noted that the threequel may be taking some time, and that is just the nature of the industry. Getting this project into motion is slow-going, indicating that perhaps Pine’s time may still come.

As of this writing, there is very little information about the sequel in the works. Deadline only recently announced that a director has been attached to The Princess Diaries 3. These gears are turning, but slowly. Adele Lim will helm the franchise when it finally goes into production. Lim has a history with Disney, recently directing Raya and the Last Dragon in 2021. She is also the director behind Crazy Rich Asians. The filmmaker spoke to the outlet about her excitement for the film.

“As a diehard fan of the original Princess Diaries, I’m beyond excited to be a part of bringing the third iteration of this beloved franchise to life. We look forward to celebrating its core tenants of female power, joy and mentorship with audiences worldwide.”

A new Princess Diaries film has the potential to introduce optimism in a world that always seems to be on the verge of collapse. Mia’s journey from an unpopular high schooler to the future ruler of a sovereign country is an escapist dream that we have all probably thought about at one time or another.

20 years ago, Pine was probably also the person we would cast as our dream partner in such a scenario, since he’s such a bonafide heartthrob. Not much has changed since then (he’s only gotten better with age) and the third movie in the trilogy would be at somewhat of a loss without him. In any case, we’ll definitely still be tuning in.

We need to know!]]>

SHUT UP! After years of wishful hoping and thinking, Anne Hathaway’s confirmed that The Princess Diaries 3 is on the way. While we’re finally glad the Crown Princess of Genovia is returning, we’re also aching to see the dashing Lord Deveraux on our screens once again.

Hathaway took Mia Thermopolis from a bumbling high-schooler to the graceful Princess we’ve come to love. But The Princess Diaries 2 introduced the handsome and charming Nicholas Deveraux, played by Chris Pine. And in case you forgot, Mia literally left the altar for him. After they shared a kiss at the end of the movie, we’ve all wondered if their romance was endgame. Now, with The Princess Diaries 3 coming, we’ll finally have our answer.

A royal love worth Pine-ing for

Chris Pine is now a major movie star, with multiple Star Trek movies under his belt. However, in 2004, a then-unknown Pine starred as Lord Nicholas Deveraux in The Princess Diaries 2. It was his first major movie role, quickly and effectively propelling him to heartthrob status.

Pine’s debut film was a huge success, and 20 years later, the fans are still aching to see Nicholas and Mia get married in a gorgeous Genovian ceremony. While the character was almost successfully used as a pawn to steal the crown, Nicholas ended up falling head over heels in love with Mia, and we were treated to one of the most adorable love stories of the early 2000s. Chris Pine and Anne Hathaway were in their early 20s when The Princess Diaries 2 was released. 20 years later, and the A-list stars, 44 and 41 respectively, are still hard at work in the industry.

Is Chris Pine returning for The Princess Diaries 3

Currently, only Anne Hathaway has been explicitly confirmed, but there are a lot of past comments that point to Chris Pine potentially returning as Nicholas Deveraux in The Princess Diaries 3. First things first, the actor has always been open to coming back. In 2016, during a Q&A with Entertainment Weekly he expressed his hopes that the franchise would continue

Fast forward to 2023, when he told Entertainment Tonight he’d be thrilled to return! “Yeah, I’m here! I’m here for it. Give me a phone call or an email,” he said. While the film has been in development for quite some time, all the former actors have been pretty hush-hush about their involvement, save for Hathaway, who has frequently hinted at the threequel every now and then

What will The Princess Diaries 3 be about?

As the film’s development is still in the early stages, it’s uncertain which direction the threequel will go. While The Princess Diaries followed the plot of the source novel, The Princess Diaries 2 ventured far from the source material. So, with a third movie in the works, it could go one of many ways.

Some fans have speculated that The Princess Diaries 3 will be a prequel, but that has yet to be confirmed. Nonetheless, if the movie does follow the events of The Princess Diaries 2, we’re hoping that Nicholas Deveraux and Mia Thermopolis are married, and raising their own little Genovian family!

All ‘Star Trek’ movies in order https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/movies/all-star-trek-movies-in-order/ https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/movies/all-star-trek-movies-in-order/#respond Mon, 06 Nov 2023 22:19:32 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/?p=1619801 Star Trek has been on the big screen since 1979. Here are all the installments!]]>

It’s hard to believe that as of 2024, Star Trek will have been on the silver screen for forty-five years. In that time, the crews of the many and varied starships Enterprise have had no less than thirteen adventures. Here they are in order.

Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979)

It’s unfortunate that the first movie in the franchise is also the weakest to feature the original crew. The script was subject to a tug-of-war during production between series creator Gene Roddenberry and principal writer Harold Livingston. The result was a flabby tale about the Enterprise crew’s encounter with an enormous entity threatening Earth – a colossal mishmash that pleased no-one, save for seeing the revamped starship Enterprise looking majestic on a big screen.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982)

By common consensus, The Wrath of Khan was streets ahead of its predecessor, and, forty years after its release, it still hasn’t been bettered. Ricardo Montalban reprises his role as Khan, iral Kirk’s nemesis from the 1966 episode “Space Seed”; the plot sees Khan steal a starship, purloin the Genesis device, and vow revenge for his exile to a distant planet. The battle scenes are breathtaking, and the final act is a tour de force of tension and suspense.

Star Trek III: The Search For Spock (1984)

The franchise’s third instalment may be a touch less compelling than The Wrath of Khan, but there are still thrills aplenty, as the Enterprise’s crew goes to the Genesis planet created in the previous film, where they make an extraordinary discovery. Christopher Lloyd shows the acting chops that would shortly serve him so well as Doc Brown in Back To The Future as the homicidal Klingon captain whose fistfight with Kirk provides the one moment that really harkens back to the original series.

Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986)

Time travel – never an easy proposition in the Star Trek universe – seems as easy as pie in this 1986 movie, but that inconsistency aside, viewers are treated to a famous romp. Kirk and company visit 1980s San Francisco in search of humpback whales who, it is surmised, can communicate with a probe in the future that is hellbent on destroying Earth. “But that’s crazy,” mutters Bones at one point. He’s not wrong; but it’s still a rollicking movie.

Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (1989)

William Shatner took the directorial reins for the fifth film in the series, which saw the Enterprise being commandeered by Sybok, a half-brother of Spock, and a mystic in search of God. The intention was to offer commentary on televangelists, but, though it has its moments, the script sags under the weight of slapstick, cheesy one-liners, ropey special effects, and an underwhelming climax.

Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991)

The final outing for the original crew sees Kirk and Bones framed for the assassination of the Klingon premier (played with gravitas by David Warner). Normal service is resumed after its predecessor’s misfires, and the plot is worthy, but the cast never quite manage to shake off the sense of an era coming to an end.

Star Trek: Generations (1994)

The first film featuring the Enterprise crew of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Generations sees Captain Picard (Patrick Stewart) battling Sorin (Malcolm McDowell), a stereotypical mad scientist driven to the destruction of an entire planet by grief. The film seems to have suffered in comparison to its successor, which did better at the box office, but it’s a fine film, with a nail-biting final act.

Star Trek: First (1996)

The best of the Next Generation films, First features the Borg, time travel, and fine turns by James Cromwell and Alfre Woodard as 21st century scientists attempting to build the world’s first warp drive. The stakes are high, the action convincing – and dyed-in-the-wool fans will squee non-stop during the final scene.

Star Trek: Insurrection (1998)

The increasingly sure hand of Jonathan Frakes – Next Generation’s Commander Riker – in the director’s seat is not enough to compensate for a by-the-numbers script which reads more like an extended television episode. The themes of eternal life and a conspiracy within Starfleet fail to disguise a strangely tensionless plot, though Tony Award winner Donna Murphy impresses as Captain Picard’s love interest.

Star Trek: Nemesis (2002)

This underwhelming conclusion to the Next Generation films barely broke even at the box office. Tom Hardy appears in only his third film role as Shinzon, a Romulan rebel created from Captain Picard’s DNA. The hectic climax has dramatic beats in all the wrong places, and, with multiple plot strands competing with one another for attention, it’s unsurprising that cinema audiences voted with their feet.

Star Trek (2009)

J. J. Abrams kicked off the Star Trek reboot films with a new Kirk and Spock in Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto respectively, a nifty new starship Enterprise, a touch of Beastie Boys, and a ton of lens flare. It won an Academy Award for Best Makeup (the only Star Trek film to be so honored), and audiences loved it, though removal of rose-tinted spectacles shows more of a reliance on artifice than strong plotting.

Star Trek Into Darkness (2013)

Abrams’ second bite of the cherry was another box office success, but struggles for coherence, relying on misplaced callbacks to previous movie instalments and a laughable final slugfest between Spock and Khan that puts viewers in mind of the similarly batty and sleep-inducing fight sequence in Star Wars: The Revenge of the Sith. The usually dependable Benedict Cumberbatch is miscast as Khan.

Star Trek Beyond (2016)

This Simon Pegg and Doug Jung-scripted film improves on its predecessors, thanks in large part to well-judged performances from Idris Elba and Sofia Boutella. But the action is still way too far-fetched even for the Star Trek franchise, and it’s no wonder that a fourth instalment is yet to be ready for launch.

This decision aligns with the film’s significant milestone and honors Disney’s storied cinematic history. Fans who can’t secure a seat in expected crowded theaters can look forward to Wish arriving on Disney Plus in 2024, following the usual pattern of most Disney films being available for streaming approximately three months after their theatrical debut.

Pine has graced the big screen in leading roles in acclaimed films such as Star Trek, where he played Captain Kirk, and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, in which he portrayed Edgin Darvis. What is the plot of Disney’s Wish?

Disney’s Wish revolves around King Magnifico, the antagonistic ruler of Rosas, who possesses the extraordinary ability to grant wishes. He selects which wishes are granted from the multitude made by people, basing his decisions on the inherent goodness of each wish. The story takes an intriguing turn as Asha, the central character of Wish, becomes the King’s apprentice, only to discover with shock that King Magnifico exercises a selective process in fulfilling wishes, a realization that deeply troubles her.

In an intriguing moment from the trailer, Asha makes a wish upon a star, and remarkably, it comes true. This unexpected development poses a threat to King Magnifico, who swiftly labels Asha as a traitor of Rosas. He commands the townspeople to search for her, setting the stage for a gripping tale. As a team, Asha and Valentino embark on an epic journey throughout the Kingdom of Rosas to thwart the impending danger.

As Disney’s Wish takes its place within the grand celebration of Disney Animation’s century-long legacy, the presence of a wish-granting star at the heart of the storyline is far from happenstance; it’s a deliberate homage to Disney’s storied history. Throughout Disney’s extensive cinematic journey, wishing stars have occupied a special and symbolic role, from Gepetto’s hopeful wish in Pinocchio to the iconic star that gracefully encircles Cinderella’s castle in the timeless Walt Disney opening credits logo.

What is Zoë Kravitz’s dating history? https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/celebrities/what-is-zoe-kravitz-dating-history/ https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/celebrities/what-is-zoe-kravitz-dating-history/#respond Tue, 31 Oct 2023 14:59:18 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/?p=1615291 Has she found true love at last with her most recent relationship?]]>

During her wildly successful career in Hollywood, Zoë Kravitz has had a number of high-profile relationships ranging from flings with Ezra Miller and her marriage to Karl Glusman, all the way up to her recent engagement to Magic Mike star Channing Tatum.

The Mad Max actress usually keeps her personal relationships on the down low but this is Hollywood we’re talking about; nothing stays secret for long. So here’s what we know about her dating history.

Ben Foster

Zoë Kravitz and Ben Foster met on the set of the 2008 comedy-drama, Birds of America. This was one of her earliest movie roles with the actress being 19 at the time of the film’s release. The couple were spotted attending a gala hosted by Madonna which confirmed that the two were indeed an item. However, the relationship did not last very long, and the two split ways shortly after.

The stars met during filming for the 2010 comedy, Beware the Gonzo, which saw Miller in the starring role and Kravitz playing the DC star’s on-screen love interest, something which spilled into the real world as the pair were seen kissing in the same year the film released. The couple weren’t an item for long though, as they reportedly split up soon after. They would later work together on screen again in the Fantastic Beasts franchise.

Around 2010 rumors began circulating that The Batman actress and Captain Kirk himself were dating. Kravitz was seen hanging out with the Star Trek actor at the Met Gala that year, however, neither Kravitz nor Pine have ever confirmed that they were in a relationship.

Michael Fassbender

The two actors initially met on the set of X-Men: First Class back in 2010 after which they began a relatively low-key relationship up until 2011. Despite breaking up, the duo remained on good with Kravitz attending the premier of Fassbender’s film The Counselor in 2013.

Penn Badgley

Rumors started back in 2011 that these two were an item, however, both kept their relationship out of the public eye for the most part. The couple remained together for two years before splitting up in 2013. A source close to the couple told US Weekly that the relationship “really did end on good ” and that “they are at two different stages in their careers […] they just didn’t have time for each other.”

Drake

Kravitz and Drake were spotted kissing at a Beyoncé concert in 2013. However, there wasn’t much more news on that other than the pair appearing in a few Instagram posts together. Kravitz did confirm in 2017 that she and the Canadian singer were in fact an item during an appearance of What Watch Happens Live, “We hung out for a minute, but we’re very good friends.”

Twin Shadow

George William Lewis Jr, better known by his stage name, Twin Shadow, worked with Kravitz on a song back in 2015. The musician, who has collaborated with the likes of Haim, was working on his third album at the time. They were in a relationship for a few months, making multiple public appearances together before parting ways shortly after, even going as far as to unfollow each other on Instagram, a sure sign that any romance is well and truly dead.

Karl Glusman

The pair started dating in 2016 after a friend introduced them to one another, by 2018 Glusman had popped the question. They were married in June 2019 with plenty of A-list guests in attendance including her Divergent co-star, Shailene Woodley along with other big names such as Laura Dern and Reese Witherspoon. Obviously, Zoë’s parents, Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet were also in attendance as well as her stepfather, Jason Momoa.

Kravitz and Glusman appeared to have a pretty strong connection but despite this, the couple filed for divorce at the beginning of 2021 as confirmed by US Weekly. By the time the divorce was finalized in August that year, they had been married for a little over two years.

Channing Tatum

The pair were first linked in the same month that Kravitz’s divorce with Glusman was finalized. Channing worked with Zoë, starring in her directorial debut, Pussy Island which has yet to be released. A month later, the pair were seen leaving the Met Gala together. It was confirmed by People at the time that they were indeed dating. Recently they were photographed leaving a Halloween party and an engagement ring can clearly be seen on Kravitz’s hand as she walks next to Tatum.

Of course, Zoë has yet to make a big announcement about the engagement, which, to be honest, is sort of her style. We’ll probably hear about the wedding months after it’s already happened, too.

Any actor that decides to dabble in directing is largely driven by ego, but based on the first reviews for Poolman, we can safely assume that Chris Pine will not be following Ben Affleck’s path towards critical, commercial, and awards season glory.

The only one of Hollywood’s favorite Chrises yet to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been holding onto his ion project for a while, and as harsh as it sounds, it really doesn’t seem to have been worth it all. Following its recent premiere, the knives were immediately sharpened, pulled out, and then plunged repeatedly into Poolman‘s lifeless corpse, rendering it dead on arrival.

POOLMAN

Comparing it to Chinatown – a certifiable classic of cinema that remains as incredible now as it was nearly 50 years ago – has aged like warm milk being propelled directly into the sun in an instant, with the tale of Pine’s title character (also known by Darren Barrenman) stumbling upon a water heist looking as if it’s in danger of being ranked among the year’s worst.

Annette Bening, Danny DeVito, Ariana DeBose, Jennifer Jason Leigh, DeWanda Wise, and Clancy Brown are just some of the other names to make up the star-studded ensemble, only for it to end in disaster for all involved. Fair play to Pine from continuing to branch out and test himself on a creative level when it would be all too easy for him to coast by on his ridiculously handsome face and natural charisma, but this seems to be one experiment that couldn’t possibly have gone any worse than it has.

Every ‘Jack Ryan’ actor, ranked https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/movies/every-jack-ryan-actor-ranked/ https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/movies/every-jack-ryan-actor-ranked/#respond Wed, 28 Jun 2023 03:45:59 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/?p=1523206 Jack Ryan has been dazzling audiences for decades. Here's our definitive ranking on all of the actors who have played him.]]>

Jack Ryan is a conundrum. He’s been the focus of Tom Clancy novels, blockbuster films, and a popular TV show, but the whole point of the character is that he’s not an action hero. He’s a CIA analyst who gets dragged into situations against his will and has to rely on his wits to survive. People will shoot at him, or threaten his life, but you’d be hard-pressed to find a scene where he’s mowing down enemies like Indiana Jones or the Terminator. Not his style.

Actually, the appeal of Jack Ryan lies in his lack of style. He’s a blank canvas that actors can bring any number of qualities to, and they have been doing just that for the past three decades. Since there are so many Ryans to choose from, we decided to go the analytical route and rank them from worst to best. Yes, we’re counting the TV show.

5. Ben Affleck

Image via Paramount Pictures

Ben Affleck can be fantastic in the right part. Unfortunately, he can be atrocious in the wrong part, as seen by his portrayal of Ryan in The Sum of All Fears (2002). The actor may have been looking for an understated hero of his own, after buddy Matt Damon filmed The Bourne Identity, but he gives off too much of a college quarterback vibe to be convincing as a desk jockey.

In Affleck’s defense, the rest of the film is bad too. The Sum of All Fears is difficult to follow despite having Tom Clancy’s novel as a source, and the dropping of a nuclear bomb halfway the film through makes it hard to get invested in the stakes that follow. If you’re going to skip a Ryan adventure, this would be it.

4. Chris Pine

Image via Paramount Pictures

Jack Ryan: Shadow Agent (2014) was the second attempt to reboot the franchise. It fares better than The Sum of All Fears, and that’s partly due to Chris Pine’s solid performance. He really sells Ryan’s inexperience here, and getting to see the character repeatedly stumble and recover makes it feel like he’s growing in real-time. His chemistry with Kiera Knightley isn’t bad either.

The issues with Jack Ryan: Shadow Agent lay mostly with Kenneth Branagh. He directs the film and plays the Russian villain, and fails to do a particularly memorable job with either. It’s a shame too, because we get the impression Pine could have done well in sequels.

3. John Krasinski

Image via Paramount Pictures

Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan (2018-) has become a definitive take on the character for many. The Amazon show has been able to develop Ryan over the course of four seasons, which makes his transition from analyst to gun-wielding threat especially believable. The time allotted would mean nothing, however, without the excellent casting of John Krasinski.

Krasinksi already played a desk worker on The Office (2005-13), so pivoting from paper sales to global threats was a clever, meta-career move. He pretty much nails the character as it was written by Clancy. The only reason he’s number three is because the show itself has been inconsistent at times.

2. Alec Baldwin

Image via Paramount Pictures

The Hunt for Red October (1990) is the single best adaptation of a Jack Ryan story. Most of the film takes place on a submarine that could start World War III, and it’s up to the character to convince submarine captain Marko Ramius (Sean Connery) to stand down. It’s about as tense as thrillers come, and it’s a testament to director John McTiernan that he stays true to the novel and doesn’t try to shoehorn in action scenes.

Alec Baldwin crushes it as Ryan. He was still relatively unknown at the time he was cast, and this lack of familiarity plays to his advantage as he goes against stars like Connery, Tim Curry, and James Earl Jones. Baldwin’s refusal to appear in sequels is a bummer, but it also preserves The Hunt for Red October as special.

1. Harrison Ford

Harrison Ford didn’t need another legendary role. He was already Han Solo and Indiana Jones. He’s too damn good to deny, though. Ford starred in Patriot Games (1992) and Clear and Present Danger (1994), which makes him the only actor to have played Jack Ryan in multiple films. Clear and Present Danger is still the most successful release in the franchise, earning $216 million at the worldwide box office.

Ford was designed in a laboratory to play Ryan. Few actors have been more convincing at playing men who are both physically capable and psychologically sharp, and the films built around him were of similarly high quality. Check them out if you haven’t already.

Ryan Reynolds inadvertently casts doubt on a ‘Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves’ sequel https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/movies/ryan-reynolds-inadvertently-casts-doubt-on-a-dungeons-dragons-honor-among-thieves-sequel/ https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/movies/ryan-reynolds-inadvertently-casts-doubt-on-a-dungeons-dragons-honor-among-thieves-sequel/#respond Fri, 09 Jun 2023 12:40:14 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/?p=1509943 A follow-up to the beloved film is looking unlikely.]]>

Sorry, fans of the recent Dungeons & Dragons movie, I have some bad news for you. That little glimmer of hope for a sequel has diminished somewhat as Ryan Reynolds’ new movie all but confirms we won’t be seeing a follow-up to the critical hit anytime soon.

According to Deadline we have the Deadpool star to blame for our lack of a sequel — or rather, him and actor/director Kenneth Branagh. The pair are reportedly starring alongside one another in Mayday, an Apple TV Plus Original film.

Whilst not much is known about the title it was pitched to Skydance (who have been working closely with Apple lately) by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, who previously directed and wrote the screenplay for Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.

Unfortunately, the pair’s new project may prevent them from working on a sequel to the tabletop game adaptation. For fans of the movie this is pretty devastating news considering it was already looking dicey as to whether we’d be getting a sequel in the first place. Whilst those who saw it found it to be a surprisingly fresh and fun-packed ride, the fact is, it just didn’t pull the numbers Paramount was likely hoping for.

With a budget of $150 million, a studio would want to see a big return in profits but sadly it barely crossed the $200 million mark. The poor performance pretty much already sealed the movie’s fate, but now that we know the writers/directors have moved onto a different project with Mr. Reynolds, it feels like all hope is practically lost.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is available for digital on services such as Amazon Prime Video, so if you’re intrigued but have yet to watch it now is the best time to do so. Maybe if it does well via streaming there could be a chance to rescue the seemingly doomed franchise.

It’s 2023, and some people are only just realizing Chris Pine played a Marvel superhero https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/movies/its-2023-and-some-people-are-only-just-realizing-chris-pine-played-a-marvel-superhero/ Tue, 30 May 2023 14:44:55 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/?p=1502122 Is Pine's voice really this unmemorable?]]>

As one of the most famous Chrises in Hollywood, Chris Pine has a laundry list of movie credits under his belt, as is widely known for playing characters such as James T. Kirk in the Star Trek reboot franchise and Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman and its sequel. What many don’t seem to know, however, is that DC is not the only superhero franchise the actor has worked on.

Early today, a tweet about the actors that have voiced prominent versions of Spider-Man had an unintended consequence, as some folks deviated from the topic at hand to focus on something else. Apparently, despite the fact that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse has been out since 2018, people have remained unaware of Chris Pine playing one of the most well-known versions of the superhero, the Ultimate Peter Parker.

For those who still don’t know exactly where Pine fits into the film, he voiced the Spider-Man from Miles Morales’ dimension, who was killed by Wilson Fisk before the protagonist’s very eyes. In all fairness, Pine’s role in the movie was short and wasn’t announced at all, instead being revealed only after a press screening took place, and for some reason, that was enough for the information to slip right past the audience.

In case readers don’t know, Into the Spider-Verse wasn’t even Pine’s first voice-acting gig, and it certainly won’t be the last, as the actor is set to play King Magnifico in an Disney movie, Wish. If the sun continues to shine on him, who knows what else Pine could get up to next?

Disney is taking the lyrics to “Happily Ever After” and diving in with their hearts wide open as they announce everything from magical new movies and charming new princes to their taking major legal steps in the fight for a new tomorrow.

If you’ve been keeping up with the news in any capacity, you know that Ron DeSantis has made Disney his own personal punching bag on his very public quest for vengeance after a dispute regarding the Florida governor’s “Don’t Say Gay” bill. In a big move from the House of Mouse, the company has decided to fight back against DeSantis, but we’ll fill you in on that soon. We also have the news that the painfully handsome Chris Pine is an Disney King in the animated film, Wish, set to be released later this year — and we won’t have to wait long to get our first peek at it. Speaking of peeks, fans were given a new look at Ariel’s right-hand fish in the live-action version of The Little Mermaid, and we’re wondering what he’s been going through lately.

Life is the bubbles, after all. You know the drill from here; it’s time to cozy up in your Disney blankets and turn on your favorite Pixar classic because we’re filling you in on all things magic.

Disney sues Ron DeSantis, and all feels like it’s moving towards being right with the world

In a significant move regarding the DeSantis vs. Disney battle, Disney is gearing up for a fight of its own as news broke this afternoon that the House of Mouse was suing DeSantis. You’d have to be living under a rock to have missed the legal woes between the two Florida powerhouses, but it’s more obvious than ever before that Disney isn’t going to take this battle lying down.

In a statement shared today, the House of Mouse had this to say about the step forward in the lawsuit, which comes as no surprise especially considering DeSantis’ statement regarding a prison next to Walt Disney World, yes — you read that right.

“Disney regrets that it has come to this, but having exhausted efforts to seek a resolution, the Company is left with no choice but to file this lawsuit to protect its cast , guests, and local development partners from a relentless campaign to weaponize government power against Disney in retaliation for expressing a political viewpoint unpopular with certain State officials.”

Described as a “relentless campaign,” and rightfully so, Disney is as tired as the rest of us about the onslaught of what feels like an almost personal vendetta against Disney from team DeSantis. Of course, the governor isn’t going to keep mum about the issues, either, and his legal team put out the following statement shared by NBC News.

“We are unaware of any legal right that a company has to operate its own government or maintain special privileges not held by other businesses in the state. This lawsuit is yet another unfortunate example of their hope to undermine the will of the Florida voters and operate outside the bounds of the law.”

It looks like an end to the battle between Disney and DeSantis is far off, but with a little magic and a wish upon a star, anything is possible, right?

The Little Mermaid‘s Flounder looks like he’s had a rough year

When you think of The Little Mermaid, a few things immediately come to mind: the iconic “kiss-the-girl” scene, gadgets and gizmos aplenty, and Ariel’s best sidekick — Flounder. So when the live-action version of the film was announced, fans were worried about just how these sea-dwelling creatures would be portrayed, and rightfully so. Disney knows how to craft a beautiful story, and their animated ventures are just perfect, but they haven’t always hit the mark where live-action remakes are concerned.

That doesn’t mean, however, that they’ve all been terrible. We could watch a Disney movie in any capacity and find some magic in it, but there are characters so perfectly created that it’s hard to see their live-action counterparts without wondering what went wrong. The same can be said for Flounder, and as the previews into The Little Mermaid have grown more prominent, we can’t help but notice that Flounder looks like he’s just been through it lately.

Of course, he is an anxious bestie in the storyline, but it looks like he went from nervous to wholly wrecked emotionally in 3.5 seconds, and he’s not even seen Ariel trying to walk around among the humans as she awaits true love’s kiss yet! If you looked at a random picture of us on any given day, we might also be giving off strong Flounder vibes, but this is a character poster we’re talking about — fans were hoping for the royal treatment.

We’re not going to entirely knock the character until we see the film, as we have all the faith that Jacob Tremblay will come in with charm and sweet nature and breathe some saving grace into our favorite (not) guppy, but we’re just a little mesmerized by the live-action take not being more animated friendly. In fact, we’re a little bummed out about it.

Chris Pine is Disney royalty — but hasn’t he always been?

Onto news that’s made us less frazzled today, Chris Pine has been announced as Disney’s newest charming royal, and he’ll take on the role of King Magnifico in the animated movie, Wish.

While the first teaser trailer is expected to be released during Good Morning America tomorrow, alongside a surprise, we did get the above first look at Pine’s character, who is said to rule the Kingdom of Rosas. He’s charismatic and charming and a perfect candidate for the role as Pine himself is — well, charismatic and charming too.

The synopsis for the film reads as follows:

Wish asks the question: ‘How did the wishing star, which so many Disney characters wished upon, came to be?’ Set in the magical kingdom of Rosas, the story introduces Asha (voice of Ariana DeBose), an optimist with a sharp wit who deeply cares about her community. When Asha turns to the sky in a moment of need and makes a wish, her plea is answered by a cosmic force—a little ball of boundless energy called Star. Together, they face the most formidable of foes to save her community and prove that when the will of one courageous human connects with the magic of the stars, wondrous things can happen.”

While the first look at the film is very Frozen-esque, we can’t wait to see where else Disney has drawn inspiration for the film. Until we get the teaser trailer tomorrow, we’ll be dreaming of wishes we’d make if we had our own magical star.

Disney desperately tries to recapture ‘Frozen’ fever in first look for ‘Wish’ https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/news/disney-desperately-tries-to-recapture-frozen-fever-in-first-teaser-trailer-for-wish/ https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/news/disney-desperately-tries-to-recapture-frozen-fever-in-first-teaser-trailer-for-wish/#respond Wed, 26 Apr 2023 20:13:31 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/?p=1479030 He’s Magnifico, alright!]]>

Disney fans are gearing up for a phenomenal new journey in the animated film that reminds us how our love for the company all started with a mouse and a Wish. That’s right; the movie hinges on the very heart of Disney magic, a wish — a dream, a hope, and a promise. Be it a movie, character, or park experience, Disney is known for making us all believe in the magic of life again, and we have a feeling that’s the premise for the movie we’ll soon be pouring into theaters to see.

This afternoon, fans were gifted the first look at Chris Pine’s character in the film that’s set to honor the lengthy and magical history of Disney magic at its finest. CinemaCon didn’t give us the first preview — that’s coming tomorrow during Good Morning America, but we did see our first look at a character we’re sure to adore.

Chris Pine is becoming a fairytale king, although he’s basically been the king of our hearts for some time now, and did we mention that the first look image is giving us massive Frozen vibes? We love it!

Let’s be honest, while the trailer will undeniably be a very special treat, we all got stuck on hearing that Pine would be the navigating force of the film, and executive producer Jennifer Lee had this to say to Deadline about his charm and the magnitude of power he’ll exude in the movie.

“As the most powerful person in the kingdom, King Magnifico needed to be played by someone who could give all the charm, cleverness and charisma to this magnanimous character, and Chris is beautifully bringing all of that and then some.”

The synopsis for the dreamy film reads as follows:

Wish asks the question: “How did the wishing star, which so many Disney characters wished upon, came to be?” Set in the magical kingdom of Rosas, the story introduces Asha, an optimist with a sharp wit who deeply cares about her community.

Wish is slated to release on Nov. 22, and we can’t wait to experience Pine in all of his prince… er, charming king glory.
