Reality star Kristin Cavallari shared a surprising story about an encounter with actor Glen Powell during the premiere of her E! series, Honestly Cavallari, which got a lot of attention from the media. The story first came out during a March podcast recording with her best friend Justin Anderson, where they talked about a steamy hookup in Greece.

Anderson, while recording their podcast Let’s Be Honest live, unexpectedly spilled the details of the encounter, which caught Cavallari by surprise. He described a “fun night” between Cavallari and Powell, saying it was a random meeting during a vacation where the two “literally ran into” each other while out partying.

Adding to the public’s curiosity, Cavallari appeared on “Watch What Happens Live” and avoided giving clear answers about what happened. When host Andy Cohen asked her about Powell’s kissing and dry-humping skills, she dodged the questions, giving playful responses and refusing to give a straight answer. This only made people more interested in what really happened. News outlets like TMZ and Page Six have pointed out the conflicting stories and Cavallari’s refusal to go into detail.

Cavallari’s time with Powell is in question

Cavallari was initially shocked by Anderson’s revelation but later confirmed the encounter, though she was vague about the specifics. She itted they had a close interaction but strongly denied that they had sex. Anderson, however, called it “dry humping,” a term Cavallari eventually agreed with. The difference in their descriptions made the story even more interesting to the public. The timing of the events is important to understand whether it overlaps with other relationships.

Powell had been single since April 2023 after breaking up with Gigi Paris, whom he dated for three years. Cavallari, on the other hand, dated Mark Estes for seven months in 2024 after splitting from her ex-husband, Jay Cutler, in 2020. The exact date of the Greece encounter is still unclear, leaving open the possibility that it happened while Powell was still in a relationship or right after it ended.

Similarly, it’s uncertain exactly when Cavallari was single before and after her relationship with Estes, making the timeline even more complicated. However, in a candid revelation, Cavallari said that her next partner would ideally have undergone a vasectomy, based on her desire to avoid the possibility of having more children.

The situation is made even more confusing because Glen Powell and his team haven’t commented. Despite many attempts by the media to get a statement, there’s been no official response.

Without any clarification from Powell’s side, the public has to rely on Cavallari’s version and the conflicting details from her friend, which keeps the rumors and discussions going. The inconsistent details, the unclear timeline that might suggest overlap with other relationships, and Powell’s silence have all kept people guessing.

Glen Powell’s mom has addressed *those* rumors of a Sydney Sweeney romance following her split from fiancé https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/celebrities/glen-powells-mom-has-addressed-those-rumors-of-a-sydney-sweeney-romance-following-her-split-from-fiance/ https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/celebrities/glen-powells-mom-has-addressed-those-rumors-of-a-sydney-sweeney-romance-following-her-split-from-fiance/#respond Wed, 02 Apr 2025 06:44:41 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/?p=1845414 Speculation has dogged the pair following a recent wedding reunion. ]]>

Glen Powell’s mom has addressed rumors around his involvement with Sydney Sweeney, following news that the actress has split from her fiancé, Jonathan Davino

Last week, we learned (from a source, at least) that Sweeney had quietly broken off her engagement with Davino after seven years as a couple. An insider claimed the actress, who got engaged to Davino in 2022, had cancelled her imminent wedding plans with the movie producer and departed the relationship altogether, citing her busy filming schedule and her desire to “focus on her career right now,” the source told Page Six

While news of Sweeney’s split (predictably) led fans to speculate whether Powell — with whom she had undeniable chemistry in Anyone But You — was somehow involved, that chatter went into overdrive earlier this week. Just days after calling off her wedding, Sweeney was spotted reuniting with Powell in Dallas, Texas to attend the wedding of his younger sister, Leslie Powell.

Naturally, a reunion between the subjects of intense affair rumors moments after a broken engagement was bound to raise a few eyebrows, but the Powell matriarch has declared that there’s nothing fishy going on. “They’re definitely not together,” Cyndy Powell told The Daily Mail of her son and Sweeney, adding that any speculation otherwise is “silly.” Cyndy went on to claim that “[there is] nothing going on behind closed doors,” and said the actress attended the family wedding simply because she is “really close friends” with Leslie.

“We love Sydney,” Cyndy said. “We’ve considered her just a really, really good friend. We all were together so much, and we haven’t seen her in a long time. She’s really a friend and we all enjoy her.” Going a step further, Cydney confirmed that Sweeney had RSVP’d to the wedding “a long time ago,” and attended with a friend as her plus-one following her split from Davino. No one quite has your back like your mom, so it makes sense that Cyndy declared that, in the absence of Sweeney, she’d love for Powell to end up with “somebody that loves him unconditionally.”

While Cyndy offered the final nail in the coffin of all *those* rumors about Gleeney (the power couple name I just invented), she can’t possibly undo the speculation that dogged the pair upon the release of Anyone But You back in 2023. At the time, both actors were the subject of fervent rumors of an affair, to the point where they each had to release statements confirming they were not romantically involved.

Although there were a few unnamed sources who claimed at the time that something nefarious was going on between the pair while filming the movie, much of the speculation felt like it boiled down to the fact that both Powell and Sweeney are simply extremely attractive.

While it’s an understandable thought that two bonafide babes with zinging romcom chemistry simply must get together and produce equally attractive offspring (see; any celebrity baby born in the last decade), it’s certainly not grounds to call adultery. Thankfully, Cyndy has come through and reminded us all of that.

Hello? Yes, I’d like to report a crime? It’s Glen Powell in all-black Armani https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/celebrities/hello-yes-id-like-to-report-a-crime-its-glen-powell-in-all-black-armani/ https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/celebrities/hello-yes-id-like-to-report-a-crime-its-glen-powell-in-all-black-armani/#respond Tue, 07 Jan 2025 20:48:15 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/?p=1821018 Everybody say "Thank you Glen!"]]>

Glen Powell might not be a hitman in real life, but he sure knows how to pierce hearts. Actually, I might be the one to consider a career in… hitmanery? Whatever it takes to shoot my shot!

At the Golden Globes, Powell was a serious smoke show, decked out in all black, and looking quite like his transformed character Gary Johnson in Hit Man, a role that earned him a nomination for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy. While Powell didn’t walk away with the trophy, he actually left the fans a memento that’s going to live on in our minds for a while – behind the scenes looks at his outfit prep.

A true Texan stud

Glen Powell’s most recent Instagram carousel is the stuff dreams are made of. Evidently, it wasn’t enough for this Texan fox to grace the Golden Globes red carpet, or flash his pearly whites every time the camera panned to him. Oh no. Instead, Powell took us even further, giving us a peek into his entire look before the ceremony.

In all-black Armani, Powell served up multiple poses, from casually laying down on the bed in the suit that probably cost more than my yearly rent, to piercing into the camera with a “smize” that would warrant a standing ovation from Tyra Banks herself. His entire outfit was Armani, down to the sleek, black cummerbund that cinched his waist perfectly.

One of the photos in the carousel also shouted out the man behind the look– the famous Warren Alfie Baker, stylist to the stars. And we owe him a double thank you, because he’s also responsible for adorning Andrew Garfield in that gorgeous green Gucci suit we’ve still not recovered from.

Hollywood’s latest leading man

The road to becoming a leading lad in Hollywood is not an easy one. But Glen Powell definitely makes it look fun. His style and charisma are reminiscent of the 90’s stars, and that’s probably why he’s earned comparisons to fellow Texan-native, Matthew McConaughey.

But make no mistake, Powell’s his own man, and he’s just as versatile as some of the best. Heck, in Hit Man alone, he showed off his range by playing about 10 different characters, and perfectly so, too. Not to mention his hilarious time on Scream Queens, his nonchalant hunk persona in Anyone But You, becoming a brash bully on Top Gun: Maverick, and a heroic meteorologist in Twisters.

These days, Powell is no stranger to being gawked at. At the Golden Globes ceremony, even host Nikki Glaser couldn’t hold back thirsting after the actor. But beyond his good looks and ‘90s charm, Powell is one of the powerhouses keeping the new wave of Hollywood afloat. For years, he has kept on the rise, and is now one of the most in-demand A-list men in the industry

If you’re not over seeing Powell on screen (how could you be?), the actor is set to have a pretty thrilling 2025. He is set to morph into the titular role of Chad Powers in the comedy produced by ESPN. He will also lead the dystopian thriller The Running Man, and the black comedy thriller, Huntington.

The guys who won the Glen Powell and Timothée Chalamet lookalike contests appeared at the Golden Globes, so…WTF? https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/celebrities/the-guys-who-won-the-glen-powell-and-timothee-chalamet-lookalike-contests-appeared-at-the-golden-globes-so-wtf/ https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/celebrities/the-guys-who-won-the-glen-powell-and-timothee-chalamet-lookalike-contests-appeared-at-the-golden-globes-so-wtf/#respond Mon, 06 Jan 2025 04:28:24 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/?p=1819821 Our 2025 bingo card couldn't have predicted this.]]>

The red carpet of the Golden Globes ceremony is usually reserved for A-listers of film and television, but this year it welcomed a pair of unlikely guests who might look a little familiar.

In case you were under a rock (if so, hi down there!), you would’ve caught the seemingly endless array of celebrity lookalike contests that sprung up all over the world in the final months of 2024. From Jason Kelce to Zendaya and even Luigi Mangione (yikes), these contests overran our algorithms… to the point where two such doppelgängers somehow found themselves at one of the starriest ceremonies of the award season.

This year, Glen Powell and Timothée Chalamet achieved the novel feat of being both nominated for Golden Globes and sharing the red carpet with their clones. That’s right, the respective winners of each actors’ lookalike contests, Maxwell Braunstein and Miles Mitchell, were spotted at the pre-ceremony celebrations at the The Beverly Hilton Hotel, probably causing photographers to prematurely take their snaps before realizing their true identities. In case there was any confusion, Braunstein and Mitchell — both dressed to the nines for the occasion — held signs that double as bizarre early entries to our 2025 bingo cards.

“I won a lookalike contest and I’m at the Golden Globes,” the plaques read. In what was surely a full-circle moment for the doppelganger, Braunstein had us all seeing double when he was later spotted interacting with the real Powell, with the pair seen sharing a hug and a selfie. The actor even went a step further by introducing his lookalike to his mother, likely inducing fear that she had somehow forgotten she’d had twins. While Chalamet was not seen interacting with his twin, the actor already got his doppelgänger fix last year, since he made headlines after appearing at the original contest in Washington Square Park… a bit before the whole enterprise devolved into chaos

Braunstein and Mitchell’s appearance at the Golden Globes has been decidedly mixed, with many social media s questioning whether the pair even deserved an invite to the star-studded event. “Why are they being invited to such a prestigious award show ceremony?,” one X wrote, adding, “they literally just won a look alike contest that’s it.” Others cast doubt on whether the pair even resembled their respective actors in the first place, or said the quiet part out loud when demanding that they “wanna see them make out.”

While Braunstein and Mitchell already secured their wins, both Powell and Chalamet were still in contention for their Golden Globes categories. For his part, Powell was up for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy for his Netflix film Hit Man, vying for the trophy alongside the likes of Jesse Eisenberg (A Real Pain), Jesse Plemons (Kinds of Kindness) and eventual winner Sebastian Stan (A Different Man). Chalamet, meanwhile, received a nod for Best Actor in a Drama for his role as Bob Dylan in the biopic A Complete Unknown, ultimately losing to Adrien Brody (The Brutalist). Though neither Powell nor Chalamet took home gold, I sincerely hope their lookalikes were able to sip champagne with a few A-listers, or, as one netizen hoped, secretly make out with their starry clones.

‘We have Kenny Powers at home’: A teaser for a new Glen Powell comedy has the internet talking https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/tv/we-have-kenny-powers-at-home-a-teaser-for-a-new-glen-powell-comedy-has-the-internet-talking/ https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/tv/we-have-kenny-powers-at-home-a-teaser-for-a-new-glen-powell-comedy-has-the-internet-talking/#respond Mon, 30 Dec 2024 10:38:02 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/?p=1817513 This is not the Powers you were looking for.]]>

It’s Glen Powell’s world and we’re all just living in it. However, his latest project divided the internet, as many fans remain uncertain if this is the right move for him.

Powell’s star continued its inexorable rise in 2024. Not only did he shine in Netflix’s spy comedy film Hit Man, but he also rocked theaters like a hurricane in Twisters. Heck, Austin, Texas even celebrated its favorite son through a lookalike competition, which was judged by Powell’s own mother.

It appears that 2025 is set to be another blockbuster year for the actor as he’s set to star in Edgar Wright’s The Running Man and the Hulu comedy series Chad Powers. In of the latter, Powell is also the co-creator and one of the writers of the show.

So, what in the world is Chad Powers about? First off, it’s important to note that it’s based on the character created by Eli Manning for Eli’s Places. Powell plays the role of Russ Holliday, a football quarterback whose bad behavior gets him into deep trouble. With his career all but ruined, desperation kicks in and Russ decides to disguise himself as Chad Powers and play for another team, hoping that no one discovers his true identity. Hit Man proved that Powell excels in master-of-disguises roles, so Chad Powers should be another opportunity for him to show off his chops here.

The first teaser for Chad Powers dropped this past weekend, showcasing Powell in full prosthetics. However, not all fans were convinced by what they saw in the 15-second clip. One X compared the show to Danny McBride’s Eastbound & Down, alluding to it being an inferior knockoff and writing, “We have Kenny Powers at home.” Others suggested that it should have been Manning in the lead role while bemoaning the fact that Powell appears to be in everything right now.

To be fair, this is the internet overreacting to a 15-second clip that shows practically nothing of the series. Also, it’s a comedy – even Manning’s Chad Powers looked deliberately goofy and unserious. Naysayers aside, a number of fans stated that the teaser shows promise and they look forward to checking it out when it’s released on Hulu – or at least wait for a longer trailer to make their minds up about it.

Considering Glen Powell’s career trajectory in recent years, don’t bet against Chad Powers becoming a hit. As he revealed to The Hollywood Reporter, he chooses his roles incredibly carefully. He ed on the latest Bourne sequel and Jurassic World: Rebirth. But why would he on something like Jurassic World, especially since an A-lister like Scarlett Johansson is also attached to it? In Powell’s own words:

Jurassic is one of my favorite movies. It’s one of the things I’ve wanted to do my whole life. I’m not doing that movie because I read the script and I immediately was, like, my presence in this movie doesn’t help it.”

What this demonstrates is how Glen Powell is different and looks at projects differently than most actors, who might see it as a giant payday and an opportunity to be front and center of the box office. For Powell, it’s all about serving the art. Laugh at Chad Powers all you want right now, but it might end up being one of the best shows of 2025.

A masterfully creative comic book movie with a cast that rivals ‘Avengers Endgame’ challenges Glen Powell on streaming https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/movies/a-masterfully-creative-comic-book-movie-with-a-cast-that-rivals-avengers-endgame-challenges-glen-powell-on-streaming/ https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/movies/a-masterfully-creative-comic-book-movie-with-a-cast-that-rivals-avengers-endgame-challenges-glen-powell-on-streaming/#respond Fri, 06 Dec 2024 15:13:01 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/?p=1805998 It will make you swallow your gum.]]>

Few mediums can claim to be as acquainted with speculative fiction as comic books. Whether it’s superheroes, horror, fantasy, sci-fi, or some absurdist urban combination of the four, the most delightfully odd and curious tales ever told are almost always residents of the pulp.

It’s only natural, then, that comic books have served as the basis for so many cinematic outings; what better way to guarantee some gonzo fun than by drawing from a medium that specializes in it? Mind you, that landing doesn’t always get stuck, but that’s certainly not the case for Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, the Edgar Wright-helmed action comedy based on the Canadian graphic novel series of the same name, which is currently utilizing its infectious whimsy to capture the hearts of Max viewers all over again.

Per FlixPatrol, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is — perhaps to the chagrin of the protagonist — the seventh most-watched movie on Max’s worldwide film charts. Blocking its path to freeing itself from such an unlucky number is the sixth-place Twisters, the Glen Powell-led 2024 summer blockbuster that fell about as short of its predecessor as any legacy sequel could.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World stars Michael Cera as the titular Scott Pilgrim, an unemployed bassist whose adorkable demeanor hides a pretty severe emotional immaturity. He meets new-girl-in-town Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) and winds up falling hard, but he soon finds that he has to defeat her seven evil exes if the two of them are going to date. Armed with his fists, intuition, and an ever-so-slightly budding sense of self-respect, Scott prepares to lay the smackdown on Ramona’s heartbreak pantheon.

The film quite famously plays host to one of the most mouth-watering casts in recent memory; alongside Cera and Winstead are the likes of Kieran Culkin, Anna Kendrick, Brie Larson, Aubrey Plaza, Chris Evans, Mae Whitman, Jason Schwartzman, and a not-oft-cited Bill Hader as the film’s narrator.

And yes, that call sheet is every bit as indicative of the overall merit of the film itself. While it makes a few too many narrative sacrifices in its jump from comic to screen — resulting in a thesis on love, relationships, and personal growth that could have been much less watered-down — the cinematic joy inherent to every frame is hard to turn one’s nose down at.

Indeed, the film’s use of editing and special effects work effortlessly in tandem with each other, giving the film the briskness of reading a comic book while taking every opportunity to play with highly-stylized dream sequences and even more highly-stylized realities. As a technical tickling of the senses, Scott Pilgrim is one of the best around, and when paired with a story that’s human enough to engage a viewer but not so dense as to distract from its mandate of fun, its cult status becomes no great mystery.

In this way, it makes for the ultimate comfort watch, particularly if you happen to be scrolling Max with your friends and need something to watch alongside your pizza, Dr. Pepper, and whatever other vices you have on hand.

From Top Gun: Maverick to Twisters, Glen Powell continues to plot his takeover of Hollywood. The good news is he isn’t alone on his quest to superstardom. The world can’t get enough of him – and neither can showbiz as offers hit his agent’s inbox left, right, and center.

The Running Man – the remake of the Arnold Schwarzenegger dystopian delight – is next on the agenda for him, and he’s already said he’d be open to playing Batman if given the chance to do it. So, what in the world is stopping James Gunn from calling him already?

This past weekend, Austin, Texas decided to celebrate one of its more famous sons by organizing a Glen Powell lookalike contest. Over one hundred contestants lined up to show off their best Powell impressions and a bunch of different looks from Powell’s most celebrated films, such as Twisters and Hit Man, while Powell’s mother judged the talent on display. The grand prize? Prepare to be blown away by this treasure chest that would have Davy Jones green with envy: $5 in cash, a cowboy hat, a free queso from Torchy’s for 12 months, and Mrs. Powell’s approval.

When social media caught wind of the news, it was nonstop laughs and memes about the ridiculous nature of the contest and having Powell’s mother at hand to witness the shenanigans. One commentator on X wrote: “Bet Glen Powell’s mom just picked the guy with the best vibes. It’s amazing.”

https://twitter.com/ChristineRose01/status/1860779213030056436

As per Fox 7 Austin, the winner was Maxwell Braunstein. When asked about it, Braunstein said, “My face hasn’t hurt like this since I was ten and at Disney World.” Yeah, everyone gets the jokes here – Powell has a permanent grin on his face in his movies, and Braunstein pulls it off to perfection.

However, this wasn’t the only surprise of the day, as Powell appeared via FaceTime to speak to his lookalikes. At first, he couldn’t help but crack a joke about how this looked more like a celebration for Justin Hartley before itting he’d had assembled the right crew for a potential heist job. He said:

“We don’t need masks because we all have the same face: It’s the perfect crime. They can’t get all of us because we are one – a criminal Glen-terprise.”

Powell also reserved a special prize for the winner. The actor explained how he always has his parents cameo in his movies, so he was extending the same courtesy to Braunstein. “The winner of the Glen Powell lookalike contest wins their parents or any family member of their choice a cameo in my next movie,” Powell said.

Considering the trajectory that Powell’s career is on this could be a potentially massive prize. There were rumors that Powell was replacing Tom Cruise as the face of the Mission: Impossible franchise, which Powell denied, but let’s be honest here: That wouldn’t be something that he would it to now, especially with Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning on the horizon.

That said, if Powell es on the Mission: Impossible gig or a superhero role, the producers can just call Maxwell Braunstein. Honestly, this guy is a dead ringer for Powell to the point that even the actor’s mother approves.

Gladiator II has been a blessing for many reasons – Paul Mescal in a skirt, Pedro Pascal in a skirt, the return of a beloved classic in all its glory… The main one, however, has been seeing and hearing the legend that is Denzel Washington willingly and freely dish out tidbits of precious wisdom every chance he gets.

At the film’s Los Angeles premiere on Monday, the 69-year-old was approached by TikTok content creator Chewkz for acting advice, telling Washington he creates his own work and platform online. The actor was quick with his response: get off your phone and a theater company, any theater company.

You can’t learn to be an actor online. You got to get on the stage. Find a little theater. Anything, even if you’re just the guy holding his spear in the back of the thing — You got to get on stage. That’s where I started. If you want what I got, do what I did.”

Though that might sound dismissive of Chewkz’s work for those who see the potential of social media for the democratization of access to the entertainment industry, don’t get it twisted, Washington was only trying to be encouraging. At the end of the exchange, he turned to the younger man and told him, “I’ll see you at work.” That’s as great of a motivator and confidence boost as you can get from one of the greatest actors of all time.

For the twice-Oscar-winning actor, there’s no greater school than theater because that’s where the actors have the most control, whereas “TV and films are a director’s medium,” he told The Times. That moment on stage is theirs to conduct, there’s no second take or mid-scene notes.

Washington, who got his start at San Francisco’s American Conservatory Theater, recently stunned The Graham Norton Show viewers by reciting a monologue from Othello, the Shakespeare tragedy he first played at 22 and will reprise, on Broadway, at 70. Paul Mescal, Saoirse Ronan and Eddie Redmayne sat watching him in awe.

Washington may be traditional in his approach to acting, but he’s also one of the biggest champions of young talent in Hollywood. For example, he famously helped Phylicia Rashad pay for Chadwick Boseman and Susan Kelechi’s summer programs at Oxford University when they were students at Howard University.

When he worked with a 19-year-old Glen Powell in The Great Debaters, Washington pushed him “out of the nest,” telling him “You should double-down on yourself. You should give this a shot.” According to the Anyone But You star, when they bumped into each other after his recent breakout fame, the older man joked, “You owe me.”

While directing Michael B. Jordan on 2021’s A Journal for Jordan, Washington connected the younger actor to a storyboard artist who would go on to help him make Creed III, his directorial debut. “That’s D, man. He’s willing to do anything to help. He wants to on knowledge and make art a little easier in however he can help,” Jordan told AP Entertainment.

Lately, Washington has been mentoring Gladiator II star Paul Mescal, who got his blockbuster start in the Ridley Scott mega-production but is returning to the stage in 2025 to do A Streetcar Named Desire again. “It’s the right thing to do, and shows he’s a legitimate, serious actor and has got his head screwed on right,” the older man told Variety.

The duo’s entire conversation for British Vogue is worth a watch, but the final moments may or may not have put this jaded entertainment writer on the verge of tears.

I pray for your generation, because we did not have to deal with what you’ve had to deal with. And it’s our fault for putting it in your hands. There were no nine million opinions of every moment of my day and people that like you and then, suddenly, they hate you, and you don’t understand why.”

If only every person of Washington’s generation was as generous to those now inheriting their legacy.

You probably caught him being a total heartthrob in Hit Man, Twisters, or Anyone But You, but Glen Powell has reflected on his lesser-known role in a superhero movie, one you probably forgot he was even in.

To shed light on this obscure role, I invite you to cast your mind back to 2012 when a younger (yet equally good-looking) Powell made an appearance in The Dark Knight Rises. If that revelation came as a shock, that’s probably because Powell’s role in the Batman film — the finale of Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy — was brief, to the point where his character doesn’t even have a name and is simply credited as “Trader #1.” You can see him getting his head bonked against a desk by Bane at 1.33 in this video:

This pre-fame appearance saw Powell play a stock exchange trader who gets knocked out by Dark Knight Rises villain Bane, who is portrayed by Tom Hardy. Between Powell, Hardy, Christian Bale, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, it seems Nolan has a penchant for casting anyone who has contributed to my gay awakening in the past couple of years. In any case, Powell looked back on his small yet impactful role in the Batman threequel in a recent profile for Vanity Fair

The actor said that despite it being a minor role, he still “[s] everything” about his experience while filming. “I on Dark Knight Rises the feeling of being able to walk onto a set and you knew everybody in the world wanted to be on that set,” Powell said. The actor went on to reveal that even though it was an unnamed character, he still “auditioned several times” for Trader #1 role. “I was getting to work with the greatest director on the planet, Christopher Nolan,” Powell said.

Naturally, having not yet reached the level of acclaim as his colleagues at the time, Powell’s experience on The Dark Knight Rises left him star-struck. “You’re sitting there and all of a sudden Tom Hardy walks in as Bane,” he said, describing his castmate’s presence as “electric” and “out-of-body.” The ever-humble superstar that he is, Powell went on to express gratitude for the role, which he said came at a time “when nothing was going on” in his life.

“I was just fighting for every inch,” Powell said, “and when Christopher Nolan casts you in his movie, it’s a validation that’s hard to explain.” Now, years later and at the height of his own success, Powell said he had since discussed the chance Nolan took on him with the director himself. “I’ve talked to Chris about this, we’ve run into each other at different things. I saw him during his amazing Oppenheimer run,” the actor recalled.

What did Nolan have to say all these years later and with a slew of blockbusters under Powell’s belt? “He’s very proud that he plucked me early,” Powell said, “I’m just very grateful that he took a shot.” As an interesting little aside, Powell isn’t the only star whose role in a superhero movie you may have forgotten, with Modern Family’s Ty Burrell, Bridesmaids’ Chris O’Dowd, and Olivia Munn taking on small roles in The Incredible Hulk, Thor: The Dark World and Iron Man 2, respectively.

Anyway, I’m off to watch Powell’s blink-and-you’ll-miss-it role in The Dark Knight Rises, since no amount of screentime is too short for him.

‘Becoming a texas fan’: Glen Powell lets his inner Texan shine through with hot new cowboy-inspired look https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/celebrities/becoming-a-texas-fan-glen-powell-lets-his-inner-texan-shine-through-with-hot-new-cowboy-inspired-look/ https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/celebrities/becoming-a-texas-fan-glen-powell-lets-his-inner-texan-shine-through-with-hot-new-cowboy-inspired-look/#respond Mon, 28 Oct 2024 21:39:08 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/?p=1776820 Well hello there, Mr. Powell! ]]>

Monday feels so much better when you see a photo of Glen Powell rocking a black Stetson and (what looks to be) a suede jacket!

The Anyone But You actor recently showed his for Texas Football, particularly the Texas Longhorns, by sharing a photo of himself at the game on Instagram. He posted it on Instagram for his 2.5 million followers to see — and gush over.

The actor’s Western-inspired outfit is not just a fashion statement: he is a Texan and was born in Austin. Fans have been giving the post a big thumbs up, and the comment section is filled with messages about how Powell is the ultimate heartthrob. “Becoming a texas fan because of glen powell,” a fan gushed. “He’s so hot,” another comment reads. And if you look at the woman in the background appearing to gaze at Powell longingly, a fan has remarked how her body language is super relatable! “The girl in the back is all of us,” they wrote.

Other reactions include, “My future husband… he just doesn’t know it yet,” “Glen’s smile is contagious,” and “saving a horse” (in reference to the cheeky joke about cowboys).

Glen Powell has a love for Western-inspired outfits and Texas football

This is not the first time we have seen Powell rocking a Stetson (both onscreen and off), and he wears them so well. Perhaps one of the best memories from the movie Twisters is how good he looked in his cowboy hat! The actor is also a ionate fan of the Longhorns (a love he shares with Matthew McConaughey). He and his family have a special connection to the University of Texas, which they have attended for decades.

“To be along on this ride this season has been pretty awesome, and finally career-wise being at a place where I get to be invited on the sidelines as like McConaughey’s deputy,” he told For The Win about watching the game. “McConaughey is always going to be the sheriff; I’ll be his deputy.”

Powell also itted that celebrating a win with the likes of Matthew McConaughey, Brian Orakpo, and Vince Young was a pivotal moment for him, and he would have left his younger self beaming with pride.

A few days before he delivered the eye candy for us, Glen Powell posted another picture of himself watching the game. This time, he used the same horn symbol associated with the team and captioned the post with a simple message: “Game day.” Instead of his Stetson, he can be seen wearing plaid, which again looks so good on him!

Powell is proud of his Texas roots and has never forgotten where he came from despite his career trajectory being on the rise. It was hard for him to decide to leave the Lone Star state all! “I thinking, ‘I have a really good life in Texas. I have a great family and great friends. How much do I love this thing, and how much am I willing to bet on myself?” he itted in an interview with Sharp magazine in 2024.

Since starting a new life in Los Angeles, Powell has starred in some great films, including Top Gun: Maverick, Hit Man, and Anyone But You, showing his versatility as an actor. However, it seems he will never forget to be humble or kind as he re who he is and the state that made him.

Powell is known for his roles in Twister, Top Gun: Maverick and Hit Man. Derek Jacobi, who had roles in Gosford Park and Gladiator, also has a role, playing the voice of Rupert, Stewie’s teddy bear.

The Family Guy Halloween special will air exclusively on Hulu on Wednesday, Oct. 14. For new subscribers, Hulu offers plenty of options including a bundle package alongside Disney+ and ESPN+.

Fans have been anxiously awaiting the announcement of the Season 23 premiere date since the final episode of Season 22 aired on April 17, 2024. For the first time, the scheduled premiere date has been delayed. Season 23 will now likely begin airing sometime in early 2025. Without giving away too many details, the new season will include parodies of Top Gun, the Supreme Court, and George Santos.

The show celebrated its 25th anniversary in January but has shown no signs of ending anytime soon. In April, the show’s creator, Seth MacFarlane, told the Los Angeles Times, “At this point, I don’t see a good reason to stop. People still love it. It makes people happy, and it funds some good causes.” MacFarland launched the animated adult comedy series in 1999.

‘That’s me and my boy, Jeremy’: Lana Del Rey’s new alligator-loving husband has a forgotten connection to Glen Powell https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/celebrities/thats-me-and-my-boy-jeremy-lana-del-reys-new-alligator-loving-husband-has-a-forgotten-connection-to-glen-powell/ https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/celebrities/thats-me-and-my-boy-jeremy-lana-del-reys-new-alligator-loving-husband-has-a-forgotten-connection-to-glen-powell/#respond Tue, 01 Oct 2024 13:39:06 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/?p=1761531 Well, that story took an unexpected twist!]]>

Lana Del Rey surprised everyone when she married Jeremy Dufrene in Des Allemands, Louisiana, late last month. Their romance had only been public for a few weeks, although they have known each other since 2019, after the “Summertime Sadness” singer went on one of Dufrene’s Louisiana swamp guide tours. At the time, she posted photos from the trip on Facebook, but she is not the only celebrity to have gone on one of these adventures.

Years before Lana visited the swamps, Glen Powell had also been on one of Dufrene’s tours, and he loved it so much that he decided to post a picture from the day on Instagram. He joked about his experience in the post, which dates back to 2015. ”J-Bone and G-Trash. We’re both single and ready to mingle,” he captioned the photo. “Find us on the swamp at the Daiquiris To-Go place next door or on Craigslist Personals. Sorry for partying. (Not sorry).”

At the time, Dufrene also commented on the post. “It was a pleasure taking y’all through the swamps of Louisiana on an airboat tour, Thanks for coming, Captain Jeremy,” he wrote.

After learning about Lana and Dufrene’s romance, fans circled back to Powell’s old picture to share their thoughts. “Not Glen chilling with Lana’s new man,” a comment reads. “Glen, what are you doing here?,” another fan questioned.

Almost ten years later, Powell mentioned Dufrene again. This time, it was in an interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show from May 2024. The comments also give us a glimpse into who the man Lana Del Rey married — and he appears to have a wicked sense of humor! “As a kid, I went on a swamp boat tour in New Orleans, and I was just like obsessed with it,” Powell shared. The Scream Queens actor explained that this childhood experience led him on many more trips to the swamp as an adult, where he met Jeremy Dufrene.

“That’s me and my boy Jeremy,” he told the audience as their old photo was shared onscreen. “We’d go on these swamp boat tours all the time. He’d sometimes let me drive … kind of help run the tour.”

Powell loves these swamp boats, even joking that he needed to get one himself, and then the story took an unexpected turn. “I was sitting there up on the top there for a while, and we were sitting there, and I said, ‘New Orleans has one of the highest disappearance rates of the country. Is that because of the swamps?’” Dufrene responded by saying, “‘Yeah, man. You take someone’s teeth out, you shave their head, throw ‘em to the gators, there ain’t going to be nothing left.’”

There was silence after this comment before the alligator swamp guide finally asked, “‘Why, do you need anything?’” Powell quickly responded with a “no,” but it’s clear that he found the story humorous (and maybe just a bit scary).

As for Dufrene’s reaction? He understood that the story was meant in jest and showed his for Powell by sharing a picture from the actor’s appearance on the show on his Facebook, along with the caption, “Check my dude Glen Powell out! Don’t miss it.”
