Academy Award winner Halle Berry and singer-songwriter Van Hunt made their first t television appearance on “TODAY with Jenna & Friends,” where they discussed their relationship and future marriage prospects. The couple, who have been dating since 2020, shared insights into their romance during Tuesday’s broadcast.

According to Huff Post, during the interview with host Jenna Bush Hager, Hunt openly expressed his readiness to take their relationship to the next level, revealing that he had already proposed to Berry. Speaking to TODAY.com, Hunt mentioned that his proposal remains “on hold” and is “just out there floating,” even playfully suggesting that others might encourage Berry to accept.

“I’ve been married three times,” Berry explained during the interview, addressing her hesitation to walk down the aisle again. She acknowledged that while Hunt has been married once before, they both feel secure in their relationship without the need for marriage to validate their love.

Berry’s past marriages influence her current relationship decisions

The Oscar winner did not completely dismiss the possibility of marriage, suggesting that they might eventually tie the knot. However, she emphasized that their decision would be based on timing rather than traditional expectations. This perspective appears to be shaped by her previous marital experiences and her current understanding of relationship dynamics.

During her conversation with Hager, Berry spoke positively about her relationship with Hunt, even joking that their current relationship is “the longest” she has experienced. This revelation provides insight into the stability and comfort she has found in their partnership.

The couple’s public appearance on the show marked a significant moment in their relationship, with Hunt arriving with flowers in hand, demonstrating their mutual affection. Their chemistry was evident as they discussed their relationship dynamics and future plans together.

Berry’s definitive statement about finding her person in Hunt suggests a deep connection that transcends traditional relationship markers. “When you find your person, you find your person, and I now have found my person,” she declared during the interview, indicating that their bond remains strong regardless of their marital status.

A ‘body language expert’ has revealed how she thinks Adrien Brody’s girlfriend really felt about that Halle Berry Oscars kiss https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/celebrities/a-body-language-expert-has-revealed-how-she-thinks-adrien-brodys-girlfriend-really-felt-about-that-halle-berry-oscars-kiss/ https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/celebrities/a-body-language-expert-has-revealed-how-she-thinks-adrien-brodys-girlfriend-really-felt-about-that-halle-berry-oscars-kiss/#respond Tue, 04 Mar 2025 00:59:45 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/?p=1839474 How do you react when Storm kisses your boyfriend?]]>

A “body language expert” has shared her thoughts on the viral Oscars moment that saw Halle Berry and Adrien Brody share a red carpet kiss… with his girlfriend standing right there.

In case you missed it, the two actors had a brief smooch ahead of the 97th Academy Awards yesterday, with Berry seen excitedly greeting Brody before planting a kiss on his lips. Berry, who was presenting an award at the ceremony, later clarified to Variety that the kiss was “payback” for a memorable and controversial Oscars moment back in 2003.

If you recall, that year’s ceremony became notorious after Brody, who had just become the youngest best actor winner for his performance in The Pianist, embraced Berry, the award’s presenter, and delivered an impromptu kiss on the lips. Now, some two decades later, Berry flipped the script, this time being the initiator of the spontaneous smooch ahead of Brody’s later best actor win for The Brutalist.

“Tonight I had to pay [Brody] back,” the actress said of her recreation of the infamous kiss. “I’ve seen him out at parties, but this is the first time since that night [in 2003] that I’ve seen him on the red carpet somewhere. He’s nominated this year. He deserved that.” While it all seems like frivolous Hollywood fun, fans raised concerns about how Berry’s kiss might’ve impacted Georgina Chapman, who has been in a relationship with Brody since at least 2020.

Giving voice to these concerns, a “body language expert,” Inbaal Honigman, claimed Chapman might not have been too thrilled with the kissing moment. “Adrien’s partner, Georgina Chapman, acts as though she is unbothered by the moment, but her body language tells a different story,” Honigam told Covers.com. While Chapman’s wide-open arms and upturned palms seem to be “welcoming Halle into the joke,” Honigman said there were other gestures that suggested she wasn’t overly amused by the situation. And while body language analysis has been largely debunked as a pseudoscience, it’s still interesting to get her input.

“When [Chapman] claps, her hands rise unnaturally high, covering her body, suggesting a protective instinct rather than genuine enthusiasm,” Honigman claimed. “Her laughter also appears exaggerated, she bends over in apparent amusement, but her eyes never leave the back of Halle’s neck.” For his part, Brody did give his partner “silent reassurance” of his kiss with Berry, with Honigman saying the actor “pick[ed] up on” her discomfort and kissed her as a reminder that “she is the one who truly has his heart.”

For what it’s worth, Berry did warn Chapman of what she was about to do, with the Monster star preemptively apologizing — with her words — in the moments before she snogged her fellow Oscar-winner. “I’m sorry, Georgina, but I gotta do it,” Berry said. It was one of multiple buzzy moments from yesterday’s ceremony, which kicked off with a mesmerizing Wicked medley courtesy of nominees Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. Later, Nick Offerman delivered a hilarious turn as the announcer of the show, while the audience’s seemingly unenthused reaction to the best documentary win got social media talking.

Despite Honigman’s claims otherwise, I can’t but think Chapman would’ve been chuffed with the red carpet moment, because who else can say their boyfriend was kissed by Storm herself? Heck, it’s certainly a step up from Chapman’s previous partner (ahem, ex-husband Harvey Weinstein, ahem).

‘We’re turning ourselves into monsters’: Halle Berry’s no-nonsense approach to aging has just received a 50-minute standing ovation from me in my living room https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/celebrities/were-turning-ourselves-into-monsters-halle-berrys-no-nonsense-approach-to-aging-has-just-received-a-50-minute-standing-ovation-from-me-in-my-living-room/ https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/celebrities/were-turning-ourselves-into-monsters-halle-berrys-no-nonsense-approach-to-aging-has-just-received-a-50-minute-standing-ovation-from-me-in-my-living-room/#respond Mon, 25 Nov 2024 20:04:41 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/?p=1799409 Queen behavior. ]]>

Halle Berry is not interested in stopping the natural process of aging. The 58-year-old actress is a firm believer women are more than just their appearance, despite how hard society tries to convince them otherwise, and is determined to age “gracefully and naturally.”

In a no-holds-barred conversation with Fortune Magazine, Berry, who is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful women in the world, opened up about the pressures to retain a certain image when all you’re recognized for is your looks. “I have longed for someone to say something to me other than, ‘Oh gosh, you’re so pretty,’” she said, adding, “I know I’m more than this.”

Though Berry’s can be typically described as an above-average beauty, the obsession with physical appearance, and the very limited pool of what is deemed “beautiful” or “acceptable,” is a weight that all women carry, especially when it comes to growing old.

Both in the public eye and universally, there’s a much higher tolerance for wrinkles, loose skin, and gray hair in men. That’s partially because their selfhood is not as dependent on how they look, but rather what they do for a living or how they act. Meanwhile, a woman’s worth has been intrinsically connected to their appearance, not just by men, but by societal structures at large, such as ments and media. As a result, they spend copious amounts of time and money on products and procedures to delay that which is the single most natural process of our lives — growing old. This is especially true for those in a line of work as visual as film and television (though, with the advent of social media, the line that separates those jobs from your regular Jane’s everyday life is now thinner than ever).

The conversation about aging has been pushed to the forefront of public discourse recently with the success of Coralie Fargeat’s horror film, The Substance. Led by 62-year-old Demi Moore, it centers a fading celebrity who becomes obsessed with regaining her youth, leading her to consume a black-market drug that creates a younger, better version of herself. Only, as with every addict, a regular dose soon becomes insufficient, and the overuse goes on to have disastrous consequences.

The film delivers sharp commentary about the beauty industry, with the titular substance being a clear stand-in for plastic surgery. The language Berry employed while talking about this same subject is remarkably evocative of The Substance‘s message.

“I think it’s a shame that, as women, we’re being told that we have to find a way to stay eternally young, forever 30 — as though we’re not allowed to be human and do what we’re naturally born to do. We’re born to age and die. But, somehow, as women, we have to do the unthinkable. We have to figure out a way to do it, and unfortunately we’re turning ourselves into monsters trying to do that.”

There’s nothing inherently wrong about plastic surgery (though one could argue that its results are often worse than the natural aging of the body). It’s the culture that surrounds it that has become so warped as to be confused with female empowerment. Sure, there’s power in having control over how you look, but make no mistake, there’s little you’re truly in control of when it comes to the beauty industry.

ment and marketing are mighty, manipulative beasts whose sole purpose is to get you to spend money — not to feel better about yourself or be truly satisfied with a product, but to splash out. In fact, just like the addictive nature of “the substance,” the beauty industry is known to fabricate insecurities you didn’t know you had until they told you that you should be doing something about them.

Women aren’t at fault for seeking these procedures, nor for reinforcing these standards. They can’t even be strongly criticized for lying about the source of their never-aging, forever plump and toned appearances. They have been near-bullied into behaving this way by decades of targeted and strategized ment.

This is exactly why it’s so important that someone like Halle Berry, a global beauty icon who has been the poster person for so many similarly toxic campaigns and media over the years, is now speaking out and highlighting this pattern.

Sure, it’s easy to “age gracefully” when you’re naturally gorgeous and have the means to purchase top-of-the-line skin care, and it’s more likely than not that Berry had a few cosmetic interventions before becoming anti-plastic surgery, too. Still, the fact that she’s so blatantly calling out the toxicity of a practice far too prevalent in her world is an undeniable step forward. May she lead that walk by example.

Halle Berry is one of the most esteemed and successful actresses of her generation, and she made history in 2002 when winning her Oscar, becoming the first Black actress to win Best Actress. Back then, she hopped on stage wearing a nude Elie Saab dress, and wore it again 22 years later.

Berry’s style is iconic, and little has changed in of her appearance. The actress became a mom for the first time in 2008, and shares daughter Nahla Ariela with ex Gabriel Aubry. She welcomed her son Maceo-Robert with her ex-husband Olivier Martinez in 2013. However, motherhood seemingly didn’t have much impact, as she bounced back to her impressively rock-hard abs.

Everyone holds dearly an item they wore in a special moment, and Halle her 2002 Oscar gown has a lot of meaning for her, and wore it again for a special fashion-filled event.

Halle Berry rewore her 2002 Oscar dress at Elie Saab’s fashion show

Nov. 13 was a big day for fashion, as Lebanese fashion house Elie Saab celebrated its 45th anniversary with a star-studded fashion show called “The 1001 Seasons of Elie Saab,” celebrating how many seasons the designer has had so far. Berry was one of the names that attended the event but she didn’t just sit quietly in the first row and observe the show, but she was a part of it, too, with an iconic cameo.

Berry walked down the catwalk in the same iconic Elie Saab gown she wore at the 2002 Oscars when she won Best Actress for Monster’s Ball. The burgundy dress features a mesh top covered with leaves and flowers, a big motif for the franchise, before continuing in a voluminous silk-taffeta skirt. This gown is considered to be one of the original “nude” dresses, and sits among the favorite Oscar looks of all time, holding a huge importance in fashion history, as well as movie history.

“There are some moments in life that just happen and they change our lives forever! Winning an Academy Award in my Elie Saab gown was one of those moments for me!” Berry praised the gown on her social media .

The message continued, “Thank you Mr. Saab for being a part of the tapestry of my life as we have been inextricably connected for 22 years now! It was my honor to celebrate you and your 1001 Seasons. Here’s wishing you many more glorious years of joy, creativity and glamour!”

Looking at the dress, it’s unclear whether it has suffered any alterations, but it sits higher on her waist, covering her belly button, and highlighting her toned abs. She wore her hair in a bun that didn’t overshadow the dress.

However, this wasn’t the only Elie Saab dress she wore for the event. Following the catwalk, she switched to a silver long gown from the Spring 25 collection with a halter neckline, which, despite its red-carpet vibe, featured the thing women want most in a dress: pockets.

The fashion extravaganza included an epic performance from Jennifer Lopez who received mild backlash for her revealing outfits, as well as Céline Dion, Camila Cabello, Nancy Ajram, and Amr Diab. The fashion show was a huge production that was hailed as better than this year’s Victoria’s Secret show, with plenty of shiny, sparkly outfits, and iconic models that included supermodels Adriana Lima and Candice Swanepoel. With all the big names present, Halle Berry completely stole the show with her iconic 2002 Oscars dress.

‘Halle did it better’: Halle Bailey has already won Halloween by recreating Halle Berry’s bombshell Bond movie bikini look https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/celebrities/halle-did-it-better-halle-bailey-has-already-won-halloween-by-recreating-halle-berrys-bombshell-bond-movie-bikini-look/ https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/celebrities/halle-did-it-better-halle-bailey-has-already-won-halloween-by-recreating-halle-berrys-bombshell-bond-movie-bikini-look/#respond Wed, 30 Oct 2024 19:49:42 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/?p=1778997 Forget Halloween, this is Halleween. ]]>

Just when folks had finally figured out the difference between them, Halle Bailey has re-embraced her status as the reincarnation of Halle Berry by recreating one of the X-Men icon’s most memorable screen looks for Halloween. Or should we say Halleween?

It’s not even the big day itself, but every other celebrity out there might as well just stay home on Oct. 31 and stuff themselves full of their kids’ candy to commiserate, as none of them are going to beat Bailey’s effort. The Little Mermaid star went all out to channel Berry in 2002 James Bond film Die Another Day, in which her near-namesake played NSA agent Jinx Johnson opposite Pierce Brosnan’s 007.

In one famous scene from the 40th anniversary movie, Berry gave her twist on Ursula Andress’ legendary moment from 1962’s Dr. No and emerged from the sea in a bold orange bikini. It’s this look that Bailey has expertly recreated for her Halloween 2024 costume, as originally shared on her Instagram. Bailey even donned a pixie cut wig and didn’t miss the authentic accessory of a white leather belt/knife holster.

Reactions to Bailey’s bombshell Halloween cosplay couldn’t resist doubling down on the double-trouble fun. “Had to read this twice,” was a reply that came up a lot, while someone else declared, “Halle did it better.” They’re right — Halle never stood a chance, what with Halle looking like that. Over on Bailey’s Instagram, the comments were full of discombobulated delight. “Halle as Halle?">Berry had to make a statement on social media to clarify that, no, she was not playing Ariel and she sent all the love Bailey’s way. One of these days, Hollywood will cotton on to their chemistry and cast both Halles as a mother/daughter duo in, say, an action-comedy.

Alternatively, the James Bond franchise is in need of a relaunch right now. A Jinx spin-off was almost made back in the day, so how’s about resurrecting the idea and casting Bailey to share the role with Berry for flashback sequences exploring Agent Johnson’s origins? MGM, we’ll talk.

Netflix has perfected the art of convincing its subscribers to watch the torrent of star-studded, poorly-made, irony-clad indistinguishable action movies it premieres on its platform every other week. The Union, a movie currently holding a dismal 27% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, somehow making it to the top of the streamer’s most-watched films of the week, per FlixPatrol, is a prime example.

Halle Berry sporting a Storm-inspired hairdo and Mark Wahlberg of Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch fame unite in this action-meets-rom-com film about a spy tasking her former high-school boyfriend, who has probably never even held a gun in his life, with retrieving a mega-secret inventory from some bad guys.

Those same viewers who have seemingly contributed to The Union besting the likes of Kingsman: The Secret Service and Kingsman: The Golden Circle (which together have made nearly a billion dollars worldwide) have called the film “an insult to [their] intelligence,” a “forgettable run of the mill spy thriller,” and the “most boring and predictable movie of the year.”

To be completely fair, Berry and Wahlberg still hold enough star power to carry a bad movie on their backs and the critics do surprisingly favor the film over the audience’s reception, giving it a slightly higher average rating of 42%. For The Guardian, Adrian Horton praises the lead duo’s star power and the lighthearted agreeableness of the film’s action, while The Hollywood Reporter‘s Frank Scheck compares The Union to a McDonald’s burger — no substance or nutrition whatsoever, but you still won’t mind taking that bite.

While we’re always happy to see Ms. Berry kick some ass, it’s still hard to believe, and a little bit annoying, how Netflix keeps getting away with this. Read We Got This Covered’s review of The Union here.

Jennifer Garner gets outdone as the iconic star of a catastrophic comic book movie with an even lower RT score than ‘Elektra’ wants a return https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/celebrities/jennifer-garner-gets-outdone-as-the-iconic-star-of-a-catastrophic-comic-book-movie-with-an-even-lower-rt-score-than-elektra-wants-a-return/ https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/celebrities/jennifer-garner-gets-outdone-as-the-iconic-star-of-a-catastrophic-comic-book-movie-with-an-even-lower-rt-score-than-elektra-wants-a-return/#respond Fri, 16 Aug 2024 20:29:51 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/?p=1740471 What has 'Deadpool & Wolverine' started?]]>

Jennifer Garner just made one of the unexpected returns in comic book movie history when she reprised the role of Elektra Natchios in Deadpool & Wolverine. Sure, the Alias icon played the heroine twice in the early 2000s, but with her Daredevil spin-off earning just 11% on Rotten Tomatoes, we lived for two decades without any expectations of her flipping those sais on the big screen ever again.

And yet even the surprise resurrection of Elektra could be outdone, if the equally iconic lead of another female-fronted superhero movie from the mid-aughts gets her way and a sequel transpires. Given that the movie in question is somehow even worse off on RT than 2005’s Elektra, it would be even more of a shock if this did actually happen. But, in the crazy, ouroborous-like landscape of superhero cinema today, we’re not entirely sure we can rule it out.

Halle Berry is up for starring in Catwoman 2, on one (purr-fect) condition

Halle Berry could have made her own Deadpool & Wolverine cameo as the X-Men’s Storm, but instead it seems she’s got her eye on returning to her role in the DC multiverse instead. With 2004’s Catwoman celebrating (or maybe comisserating) its 20th anniversary this year, Berry’s recent appearance on The Tonight Show saw the topic of a potential reprisal of the feline felon come up. And the Union actress gave an unexpected response. “Maybe,” she said, when asked if she would be interested in a Catwoman sequel. “If I could direct it.”

Maybe someone should remind Ms. Berry that this is the same Catwoman that is sitting less than purr-ty at just 8% on Rotten Tomatoes. The same Catwoman that earned her a Razzie award for Worst Actress (she memorably accepted the gong while holding her Oscar for Monster’s Ball in her other hand). The same Catwoman that she once described as a “piece of sh*t, god-awful movie.” Yup, that same Catwoman. It seems Berry’s feelings towards the film — directed by the mononymic Pitof — have softened over time, as she told Jimmy Fallon that she’s glad the movie has enjoyed a surprising resurgence of with the next generation of fans.

“What I’m happy about is… the children have found it now on the internet,” she explained. “The kids love it. So it’s so vindicating because now they’re saying, ‘It’s cool,’ and ‘What the heck was everybody’s problem with it?’ So, I’m like, ‘I’m so brat now.’” There is something tempting about the idea of Berry being allowed to redeem her earlier failure, this time with herself in front of and behind the camera — perhaps turning in something much grittier, à la her 2020 directorial debut Bruised. And yet, it has to be said: is this really what the superhero genre has come to? Dusting off the very worst of itself for a quick burst of nostalgia?

We laughed when George Clooney’s Batman came back in The Flash. We cheered when Garner appeared in Deadpool 3. But, honestly, if we’re genuinely considering a legacy sequel to Catwoman, then where — for the love of the God of Thunder — does it end? Shaquille O’Neill’s Steel ing James Gunn’s new Justice League? Kate Mara and her Susan Storm wig turning out to be the main villain of Avengers: Secret Wars? Wait, Kevin Feige, pretend you didn’t read that.

Review: Netflix’s ‘The Union’ hopes Mark Wahlberg and Halle Berry can compensate for a mediocre spy story https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/netflix/review-netflixs-the-union-hopes-mark-wahlberg-and-halle-berry-can-compensate-for-a-mediocre-spy-story/ https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/netflix/review-netflixs-the-union-hopes-mark-wahlberg-and-halle-berry-can-compensate-for-a-mediocre-spy-story/#respond Fri, 16 Aug 2024 10:04:36 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/?p=1739569 There’s only so much good actors can do to elevate a boring script.]]>

To stand out, a spy movie must have breathtaking action set pieces or an intricate script that doesn’t underestimate the viewer, preferably both. Starring Mark Wahlberg and Halle Berry, Netflix’s The Union has neither.

The Union introduces yet another secret intelligence agency that works in the shadows to defend the Western world from unknown threats. However, what supposedly makes the titular Union unique compared to other espionage franchises is that all its recruits come from blue-collar jobs. The idea is that lower-class people can easily disappear in the crowd, as they are used to being invisible. That means the Union prefers to teach the working person how to shoot, parkour, and falsify identities rather than train a white-collar worker to wait tables properly, for instance.

The movie follows Berry as Roxanne, a Union agent who needs to recruit an outsider after her team is betrayed and killed during an operation that went south. Her choice is Mike (Wahlberg), a construction worker who still lives in his mother’s home. The Union follows Mike and Roxanne as they try to untangle the mystery of the dead agents while reliving their decades-old high school fling.

There is some merit in creating a spy agency with only essential workers. It’s a promising concept that should have allowed writers Joe Barton and David Guggenheim to approach old espionage tropes from a different angle. However, as much as The Union wants to appear unique, everything beyond its recruiting process fits the templates created by movie series such as Mission: Impossible

The Union agents are still dependent on almost magical technological tools, with gear and gadgets that come from the same multimillionaire pipeline as every other government agency. So, in the end, it doesn’t really matter if the Union is composed of blue collars, as their planning, strategy, and execution stick to the things we’ve already seen somewhere else.

Mark Wahlberg as Mike McKenna in Netflix's The Union

The script’s lack of imagination also extends to its character dynamics. Mike is quickly thrust into the Union as the miraculous solution to a complex problem. There’s a training montage, of course, that underlines how fast Mike learns the ropes of being a spy, rushing through six months of training in only two weeks. After that, he’s already put on the field, throwing fists against highly skilled assassins and surviving all sorts of near-death situations. In her turn, Berry is a femme fatale who doesn’t know defeat and uses her mastery of every weapon to always come up on top.

Together, Mike and Roxanne are as bland as action heroes can be, moving from set piece to set piece while following breadcrumbs left behind by obnoxiously simple villains. The movie tries to give the duo some dramatic tension by hammering down the fact they used to date in high school. Still, even that falls flat as Mike and Roxanne inevitably fall in love with each other again, slowly resisting their urges in the name of the mission until fate brings them together.

If that’s not enough to illustrate how shallow The Union can be, it’s worth noting that the twists in the plot can be anticipated after just a couple of minutes, as the movie shamelessly recycles the story told in better movies. Plus, to add insult to injury, villains will still take their time to monologue and connect all the obvious pieces to ensure the audience understands the plot, even if they spend two hours looking at their phones.

Halle Berry as Roxanne Hall in Netflix's The Union

Even if clichés can be annoying, not everyone is a film buff, and the familiarity with The Union’s plot might even be lost to some viewers. So, it’s important to clarify there is nothing particularly wrong with The Union beyond its lack of creativity. However, every aspect of the movie highlights how this is the classic second-screen content streamers like to produce, something to leave on when chatting with friends or playing a game. The stakes are low, the story is familiar, and the dialogue is so plain and redundant that there is absolutely no way to feel lost, even if you grab a pizza without hitting pause.

Even the action scenes of The Union are mediocre, at best. From car chases to rooftop battles, the movie never takes any real risk, betting on commonplace choreographies and editing to keep viewers entertained without paying too much attention to what’s happening on the screen. It’s no surprise, then, that set pieces overstay their welcome as they are stretched to increase the movie’s runtime – Netflix’s biggest metric for success is the total amount of minutes that a piece of content is played worldwide.

Like most second-screen content, The Union only stands out due to its star-studded cast. There’s only so much good actors can do to elevate a boring script. Even so, The Union does boast some noteworthy performances.

Berry can’t do much, as Roxanne is a unidimensional badass without a single interesting layer beyond her desire to help people. Considering that The Mothership got canceled, that’s twice in the last year that Netflix sabotaged the actress.

On the other hand, Wahlberg can at least pretend he’s dealing with a gripping moral conundrum as he tries to defend his uneventful life as one that’s worth living, even though he quickly embraces his new spy gig. While the reasoning behind Mike’s splintered loyalty doesn’t stand one minute of critical thinking, at least this gives Wahlberg enough material to show why he’s such a beloved star.

Beyond the leading couple, The Union also counts on the always incredible J.K. Simmons. That man is a national treasure that can do wonders with just a bunch of poorly written lines, and it’s always fun to see him enter the scene. Juliett Quinn is also delightful, but everyone else is mostly there to pop up on occasional scenes, grab their checks, and go home.

What’s most surprising about The Union is how Netflix is clearly testing the waters to turn it into a franchise. The movie tells a standalone story, but the fate of some characters is purposely left open for a sequel to be produced if the story is well received. At least this time, Netflix’s hopes for a spy universe lay on a forgettable movie instead of the disastrous Heart of Stone. Plus, since Gal Gadot’s offensively bad action flick was a huge hit, The Union will likely become one too. By being average, it already deserves more.

‘On Fridays, we strut’: Halle Berry’s Instagram vs. reality moment is leaving fans in fits of giggles https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/news/on-fridays-we-strut-halle-berrys-instagram-vs-reality-moment-is-leaving-fans-in-fits-of-giggles/ https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/news/on-fridays-we-strut-halle-berrys-instagram-vs-reality-moment-is-leaving-fans-in-fits-of-giggles/#respond Wed, 12 Jun 2024 21:40:31 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/?p=1707720 Halle Berry trying to take off her top is one of the most relatable videos on the internet right now!]]>

Halle Berry is one of Hollywood’s most elegant women, so when she dresses up and makes an entrance, you better believe people will take note. Recently, she looked fantastic in a monochromatic outfit as she walked through a lobby. And when you know you look good, why not share it on Instagram, right? Berry captioned the post with, “On Fridays, we strut.”

We don’t need to tell you just how much she slayed. But the actress decided to show fans the downside of sometimes wearing really beautiful but super-fitted clothing, as she posted a follow-up video of herself trying to get her top off. In a hilarious and, let’s face it, pretty relatable video, Berry tries to remove her top with the help of fashion stylist Lindsay Flores.

There is even one point where she contemplates cutting it off because it looks like there is no getting free from this stylish garment. Berry captioned the post with a simple message: “Bad and Booshy back at it slaving for fashion! @iamlindsayflores.”

Fans react to Halle Berry’s Instagram vs. reality moment

The Instagram video shows Berry’s lighter side, and fans love it. The post’s comment section has been filled with messages of for the actress and praise for her relatability. “I. Feel. So. Seen,” a fan wrote. Another agreed, writing, “I love this. Women can barely function when both are laughing this hard. This made me laugh.”

Fans have also taken the time to share their own stories. “Have you ever been at home and had to do this by yourself? The panic, frustration, and tears that come along … then when you finally get it off, all you can say is thank you,” one comment reads. Another fan shared similar thoughts, writing, “This is the most human thing that relates to all of us I’ve ever seen on social media. I love you hahahah.”

We can’t help but agree that this is definitely one of the most relatable videos on the internet right now!

Does that heavily rumored X-Men icon really have a cameo in ‘The Marvels?’ https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/movies/does-that-x-men-icon-really-have-a-cameo-in-the-marvels/ https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/movies/does-that-x-men-icon-really-have-a-cameo-in-the-marvels/#respond Thu, 09 Nov 2023 18:10:31 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/?p=1621578 Let's cool our eXcitement and look at the facts. ]]>

Warning: This article contains major The Marvels spoilers.

You have to hand it to Marvel Studios. In the face of dwindling interest in The Marvels ahead of its release, the movie’s promotion really kicked up a gear and promised that all kinds of unmissable surprises were waiting in its deceptively short runtime. So naturally fans got carried away with themselves.

Thanks to none-too-subtle teases, all expectations were suddenly pivoted to anticipating The Marvels to be a surprise key chapter in the ongoing evolution of the MCU’s X-Men. We already know that legacy stars from Fox’s X-Men universe will appear in Deadpool 3, so it didn’t take much to get folks convinced that at least one former X-icon could cameo opposite Brie Larson and company in the new movie.

Specifically, thanks to a shot of a Black woman in a white superhero costume striding past Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau, with a blanket falling off their shoulders looking like a cape, everyone started to wonder: is Storm in The Marvels? Well, wonder no more as here is your answer.

Does Halle Berry cameo as Storm in The Marvels?

No, Storm does not appear in The Marvels. However, fans were right to suspect that the woman in the white super-suit was someone of significance as they are indeed a character we already know well from the MCU’s past. Well, to be more specific, a new variant of them.

As was another common, more plausible, theory, the white-suited woman is Binary, the Captain Marvel variant from the comics, who is revealed to be another version of Maria Rambeau, Monica’s mother, from another reality. Lashana Lynch reprises her role, following on from her appearances as Earth-616’s Maria in Captain Marvel and the Earth-838 incarnation in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

As for where this Maria hails from, it’s confirmed to be… Fox’s X-Men universe! Yes, we do get an X-Men cameo, just not in the form of Halle Berry but one of her X-Men: The Last Stand co-stars. And it’s sure to be one that won’t leave any old-school Fox fans feeling blue.

Could ‘Deadpool 3’ finally right a shameful X-Men franchise wrong 18 years later? https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/movies/could-deadpool-3-finally-right-a-shameful-x-men-franchise-wrong-18-years-later/ https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/movies/could-deadpool-3-finally-right-a-shameful-x-men-franchise-wrong-18-years-later/#respond Wed, 18 Oct 2023 14:17:53 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/?p=1606799 'Okay, it's a pretty cool idea.']]>

Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry has had her fair share of ups and downs in the superhero genre over the years but if her rumored cameo in Deadpool 3 turns out to be true, it could be a chance to right a shameful wrong that was done to her regarding one of her most iconic roles, Storm from the X-Men.

Some 18 years ago, X-Men: The Last Stand was poised to cap off the trilogy begun by Bryan Singer’s first two movies. However, at the time Singer was busy with Superman Returns, so 20th Century Fox looked for a replacement. This week it was revealed X-Men: First Class director Matthew Vaughn was all set to take the job but quit at the last minute. The reason? He accused studio executives of tricking Berry in order to get her to agree to take the part. As Vaughn explained at the New York Comic Con:

“One of the main reasons I actually quit X3 and it was a true story, and I don’t care if I’m not meant to say it, but Hollywood is really political in an odd way. I went into one of the executives office and I saw an X3 script and I immediately knew that it was a lot fatter. I was like, ‘What the hell’s this? This draft?’ Oh, don’t worry about it. Like no, no, I’m the director. I’m worrying about this draft. Tell me what it is. Wouldn’t tell me, so I grabbed it from him. It was like a crazy moment, but I grabbed it.

Open the first page and it said Africa, Storm. kids dying have no water, she creates a thunderstorm and saves all these children. Okay, it’s pretty cool idea. They said it was the ‘The Halle Berry script,’ because she hasn’t signed up yet. But once she gets what she wants it to be and she signs up, we’ll throw it in the bin. And I was like, ‘Wow, you’re going to do that to an Oscar-winning actress who plays Storm? I’m out of here. So I quit.”

Days of the past’s future

While this story is another disgusting example of Marvel’s mistreatment of its women lead stars, right up there with Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow not truly getting the sendoff she deserves, there could be a chance to redeem this dark chapter in mutant history. You see, with Deadpool 3 on the horizon, a film that is rumored to feature a number of cameos from Fox’s former X-Men universe, including Storm, the filmmakers could easily insert this scrapped scene into that film. Imagine, almost two decades later, if we finally got to see what Vaughn called a “pretty cool idea” of Storm saving dying kids in Africa with a thunderstorm?

This isn’t the first time a Storm subplot has been scrapped in an X-Men movie, either. Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Storm were meant to have a romance in the far-flung future of 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. However, the pair sharing a kiss ended up being a deleted scene instead of making the final cut. If Berry’s rumored appearance in Deadpool 3 really does happen and reunites her with Jackman, this could be an opportunity to revisit their characters’ forgotten romance.

Regardless, we hope whatever unfolds for Berry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be worlds away from the deceit outlined in Vaughn’s anecdote. We’ll be watching with bated breath to see if Storm really does show up in Deadpool 3 when it comes to theaters on May 3, 2024.

What is Chloe Bailey’s net worth? https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/celebrities/what-is-chloe-baileys-net-worth/ https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/celebrities/what-is-chloe-baileys-net-worth/#respond Tue, 17 Oct 2023 19:33:57 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/?p=1606301 At 25, Chloe's made more money than some do in their lifetime.]]>

Chloe Bailey isn’t just the super-talented older half of musical sister duo Chloe x Halle, but a certified triple threat.

In addition to a celebrated career as a performer, both as a solo artist and aside her sister Halle, Chloe has built up quite an acting resume. She’s starred in projects like Swarm, a show about a particularly toxic superfan created by Donald Glover, and in the fan-favorite Grown-ish alongside her sister.

It’s safe to say Chloe has an eye for making worthwhile career moves (not to mention her eye for great Halloween costumes). At only 25, Chloe has earned the kind of net worth it takes some people a lifetime to achieve.

Why is Chloe Bailey’s net worth so high?

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Chloe has a net worth of $2 million as of 2023. While it’s impossible to that exact number without access to sensitive financial info, it’s not surprising Chloe’s a high-earner when you look at how long she’s been on the scene. Chloe and her sister began writing songs at a very young age and their father became their co-manager, encouraging them to learn how to make their own music so they wouldn’t have to rely on outside help. This skill would take the girls far; Chloe is not only a talented artist, but an accomplished songwriter and producer as well.

The girls had small roles in 2003’s The Fighting Temptations alongside Beyoncé, who would later sign the duo to her Parkwood label a little over a decade later. After a stint on the Disney Channel circuit, the two girls started their own YouTube channel when Chloe was 13 and Halle was 11. The girls made a name for themselves performing masterfully-arranged covers of songs like their eventual mentor’s hits “Best I Never Had” and “Pretty Hurts.” Their YouTube success led them to perform on talk shows, Austin & Ally, and to a record deal in 2015.

As Chloe x Halle, they’ve put out critically-acclaimed albums including their latest, 2020’s Ungodly Hour (which this author thinks you should listen to if you like good music). While they built their music career, the girls simultaneously worked on building an acting career together on the aforementioned Grown-ish before pursuing individual roles. Halle famously was cast to play Ariel in the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid, while Chloe starred in projects like the thriller Jane and the musical Praise This.

Most recently, Chloe released her first solo album, In Pieces, as Chlöe and went on an accompanying tour. She’s been taking a deserved break from releasing music, opting to promote collabs with CÎROC vodka and SOREL footwear in the meantime. With multiple brand deals and several films in the works, Chloe will continue to make the big bucks for the foreseeable future.
