Ever experienced the Mandela Effect where you’re convinced a scene/character from a movie never existed, only to have your mind blown when you rewatch it? Blink and you’ll miss it – just like Jenna Ortega’s tiniest cameo in Iron Man 3. The actress, whose career skyrocketed after starring in Netflix’s Wednesday, had a brush with the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) that most fans don’t even . And honestly, no one can blame you for not ing.

Because Marvel Studios deleted it and took out all her lines.

In a sit-down with Entertainment Tonight, Ortega recounted her experience with the MCU, and let’s just say she was not thrilled looking back at such an upsetting outcome after playing her part in the franchise. During the interview, she was asked if there was any chance for fans to see her in the MCU, and Ortega surprisingly responded, “I [already] did it once.” Then, with a playful yet dismissive tone, she added, “It was one of the first jobs I ever did.”

Iron Man 3 came out in 2013, which means Ortega was around 10 or 11 when she filmed for the movie. The film became a blockbuster hit, grossing $1.2 billion worldwide. Unfortunately, it’s hard to recall that she was in it because she only did a small role. Moreover, Disney, for some reason, decided to reduce her appearance in the movie to the bare minimum — so much so that she became unnoticeable.

“They took all my lines out. I’m in Iron Man 3 for a quick second. I take up the frame. I have one leg, and I’m the vice president’s daughter,” Ortega explained.

Of course, one could argue that directors and producers always know what they are doing. But in this case, it seems neglecting Ortega and her potential as an actress left a sour taste in the actress’ mouth. We won’t be surprised if she’s sworn off the MCU for good after that.

Interestingly, Paul Rudd, who worked with Ortega on the new horror comedy Death of a Unicorn, seemingly downplayed the issue by suggesting that the actress’ minor role could be a hint at a bigger role in the MCU, especially now that Ortega’s won a lot of hearts after Wednesday, Scream VI, and her other recent projects. “Marvel is very good at kind of laying those breadcrumbs, so it might very well be that you come back. They’re gonna create something for you! ‘Cause they should be so lucky to have Jenna Ortega in their franchise,” Rudd said during the same interview.

Despite the actor’s enthusiastic pitch, Ortega was unimpressed, saying, “They even took my name away. I count that, then I move on.” Apparently, she still feels pretty betrayed by Disney’s move to simply credit her character in the movie as “Vice President’s daughter,” as if she was not worthy of being named in the film, which was supposed to be one of the most memorable moments in her career in Hollywood since it was among her first-ever projects.

Given her statement, I guess we can say that she’s keeping her distance from the MCU for good. In an era where Marvel can get all the Angelina Jolies and Pedro Pascals it wants, it seems like bagging Jenna Ortega’s forgiveness and then her presence would be MCU’s Everest.

‘WTF??????????????????’: Yep, reactions to Jenna Ortega’s ‘Death of a Unicorn’ are already coming in hot https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/movies/wtf-yep-reactions-to-jenna-ortegas-death-of-a-unicorn-are-already-coming-in-hot/ https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/movies/wtf-yep-reactions-to-jenna-ortegas-death-of-a-unicorn-are-already-coming-in-hot/#respond Wed, 18 Dec 2024 18:35:32 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/?p=1812658 At least it has a memorable title?]]>

When you’re a talent like Jenna Ortega, you’re going to have a fantastic career. You can take on an iconic goth character and star in an opening Scream sequence where you brag about your elevated horror expertise, no problem. But can you really pull off starring in a movie called Death of a Unicorn?

People are more than a little confused about this A24 film, which is about Ripley (Ortega) and her dad Elliot (the forever young Paul Rudd) hitting the mystical creature with their car on their way to a professional retreat for Elliot.

Naturally, people have strong responses to the Death of a Unicorn trailer, which dropped earlier today. As one X put it, “WTF?????????????????">

People can’t decide if they’re going to race to the theater to see Death of a Unicorn or if they want absolutely nothing to do with this movie. And, honestly, I’m in that perplexed camp, too. One person online said A24 movies seem promising from trailers but end up being unsatisfying, and another wondered why “the same actors” end up in every movie. Bonkers premise aside, I could defend Ortega and Rudd forever, so I don’t want to hear that! Finally, another said, “Not sure how I feel about this one,” so maybe that’s the only possible position to take until the movie comes out.

Then there are those who praised the movie for its premise: “Finally some originality,” one said, and I will agree that at least this film is doing something different. I have literally no clue what genre Death of a Unicorn is supposed to be, but from the trailer, it seems to follow a traditional thriller movie structure. In it, Ripley and Elliot act like everything is fine when they get to the retreat, but when other characters ask them what’s going on and figure out they’re hiding the unicorn in their car, all hell breaks loose. In the most wild twist of all, it turns out you were right as a kid and unicorns really are magical, because the dust from this one’s horn appears to be a cure for cancer. I’m going to need a long explanation for that.

A24 doesn’t only make unhinged content — the company has put out some impressive films, including the deeply emotional Eighth Grade and Lady Bird; however, its popular horror movies do tend to walk on the wild side, from Hereditary and Midsommar to Tusk. I’m wondering if Death of a Unicorn is more or less bewildering than the premise of the 2014 A24 release Spring Breakers, which is like a fever dream or a music video (or both). Since Ari Aster is producing this Ortega/Rudd project, that might make people feel a little bit more confident that there’s something legit happening here.

There isn’t an official release date for Death of a Unicorn yet, which means more time for everyone to sit back and figure out what to think about it. Or maybe that’s not possible and everyone should just agree to check it out. At the very least, you get to watch Ortega and Rudd in a movie together, and that’s not the worst thing in the world.

Ant-Man, Wednesday, Adam Warlock, John Carpenter, and killer unicorns? Yesterday, A24 ever so courteously let us know that we’d be getting a trailer for their film Death Of A Unicorn today. Those who were already clued into this one knew that it would follow the fallout of a father (Paul Rudd) and a daughter (Jenna Ortega) running over a unicorn, but now that we’ve seen said trailer, it can be said quite definitively that A24’s usual customers will be locked right into this one.

The trailer kicks off with Elliot (Rudd) and Ridley (Ortega) having already beaten the unicorn in a game of chicken, leaving Ridley traumatized on an existential level. The setting quickly gives way to the estate of one Dell Leopold, the head of a pharmaceutical empire that happens to be in the middle of crisis management. Among the Leopold family is one Will Poulter, who seems to be the conduit of Death Of A Unicorn‘s dry, dark, acute, and effective sense of humor.

Anyway, the Leopolds get dollar signs in their eyes when presented with the unicorn, and proceed to use the various pieces of its corpse to develop magical drugs that can cure cancer, bestow their s with immortality, and pull off other such miracles. The catch? There’s another unicorn nearby, and it’s none too pleased about the fate of its fallen brethren. Cue the mythological carnage set against a remixed rendition of The Beach Boys’ “Good Vibrations.”

Beyond Rudd, Ortega, and Poulter, the film will also star Richard E. Grant (Saltburn, Argylle), Téa Leoni (Only Murders in the Building), Anthony Carrigan (James Gunn’s Superman), Sunita Mani (Mr. Robot), Jessica Hynes (The Franchise), and Steve Park (Mickey 17). It will serve as Alex Scharfman’s feature directorial and screenwriting debut, and will be blessed with a score from the legendary John Carpenter, which he’ll co-create with son Cody Carpenter and godson Daniel Davies.

At a glance, Death Of A Unicorn‘s themes will fly in the realm of greed and exploitation, with the Leopolds’ comeuppance at the hands (horn?) of a unicorn being a none-too-subtle indictment of the rich. In all likelihood, though, it won’t be as cut and dry as that. The heart of the film seems to be Ortega’s character Ripley, who appears to form some kind of bond with the unicorn that allows her to tap into a deep truth about the universe. So, as fun as it will be to watch some of the film’s more gonzo proceedings play out, all the keen eyes will be on Ortega as we watch this unravel.

Even better is the fact that we don’t have to wait too long for it. The film is scheduled for a spring 2025 release date, and A24 will have plenty of other goodies to tide us over until then, the biggest of which being The Legend of Ochi, the directorial debut of Isaiah Saxton featuring the likes of Willem Dafoe and Finn Wolfhard, wherein a little girl named Yuri (Helena Zengel) befriends a baby ochi (a mix between an orangutan, cat, and Grogu) and endeavors to return it to its family. That film hits theaters on Feb. 28.

You guys, Jenna Ortega told ‘Scream 7’ to take a hike so she could kill a unicorn with Ant-Man and I’m… concerned https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/movies/you-guys-jenna-ortega-told-scream-7-to-take-a-hike-so-she-could-kill-a-unicorn-with-ant-man-and-im-concerned/ https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/movies/you-guys-jenna-ortega-told-scream-7-to-take-a-hike-so-she-could-kill-a-unicorn-with-ant-man-and-im-concerned/#respond Wed, 18 Dec 2024 11:43:37 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/?p=1812389 "A24 + weird premise = a movie I'm watching." ]]>

While Jenna Ortega won’t appear in Scream 7 (after screaming that many times, maybe her vocal cords are overstretched), the actress is keeping busy in the form of Death of A Unicorn.

Ortega dropped out of the seventh installment of the slasher franchise this year due to scheduling conflicts… and perhaps a slight dose of behind-the-scenes drama. At the time, the actress’ role in season 2 of Wednesday was cited as the reason for her departure from Scream 7, but her filming schedule was already bustling as she jumped on board an A24 project about… well, the death of a unicorn. Produced by A24 (home to tons of off-kilter titles), Ortega’s most curious yet exciting project has released its official poster, ahead of its arrival in cinemas in the spring of 2025.

The poster for Death of a Unicorn takes its title quite literally, showing the mythological creature cloaked in a blanket after presumably becoming the victim of roadkill. That, too, goes some way in explaining the film’s premise, which follows a father and daughter who accidentally run over a unicorn and are forced to deal with the consequences of their magical discovery. That alone earns points for originality (something that can’t be said for Scream 7), but anticipation is also heightened by the film’s starry cast.

Alongside Ortega, Death of a Unicorn will star Ant-Man’s Paul Rudd as the second half of the daddy-daughter duo, proving that between ants and unicorns, the actor is tackling the animal kingdom one movie at a time. The cast also includes Saltburn’s Richard E. Grant, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’s Will Poulter and Jurassic Park III’s Téa Leoni. While the stain of Quantumania and Ortega’s departure from a leading role in a blockbuster horror franchise might seem like a cause for concern, Death of a Unicorn is generating some pretty promising buzz for a few reasons.

For starters, the combination of an original premise with an A24 production credit has spelled success for previous films like The Lobster (I’m sensing an animal theme here) and The Lighthouse, but Death of a Unicorn earns extra intrigue with its director. The movie — which was one of the few allowed to continue production during last year’s Hollywood strikes — is helmed by Alex Scharfman in what will be his feature-film debut, but he already has producer credits on films like Blow the Man Down and Resurrection.

Notably, it was reported last year that Death of a Unicorn was produced by Ari Aster, the twisted mind behind A24 juggernauts like Midsommar, Hereditary, and Beau Is Afraid. What’s more, Death of a Unicorn is billed as a black comedy, so it will be exciting to see Ortega flex her funny bone beyond the deadpan signature of Wednesday. We’ll know a bit more about the film’s potential once the official trailer lands.

Meanwhile, on the Scream front, the seventh installment has endured waves of setbacks and negative headlines following the firing of castmate Melissa Barrera due to her pro-Palestine social media posts earlier this year. Despite that, filming for Scream 7 reportedly started this month, but given all the hullabaloo and the implications of being attached to a languishing franchise, perhaps it’s better that Ortega hitched herself to another wagon, even if that wagon went on to run over a unicorn.

‘My god she looks glorious’: ‘Wednesday’ delivers major season 2 update, and Jenna Ortega has never looked spookier https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/tv/my-god-she-looks-glorious-wednesday-delivers-major-season-2-update-and-jenna-ortega-has-never-looked-spookier/ https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/tv/my-god-she-looks-glorious-wednesday-delivers-major-season-2-update-and-jenna-ortega-has-never-looked-spookier/#respond Wed, 04 Dec 2024 16:31:54 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/?p=1804622 Finally, some finger-clicking good news!]]>

Over two years on from the release of the phenomenally popular — not to mention mysterious, spooky, and altogether ooky — first season of Wednesday, Netflix has finally delivered the news Addams Family fans have been waiting for. And it comes with a sneak peek at Jenna Ortega‘s return as everyone’s favorite braided misanthrope.

This Wednesday (obviously!), Netflix announced that filming has at long last completed on the second run of the smash-hit series, unveiling the news along with a first-look image at the new run. The suitably Gothic-looking photo reveals Ortega back in black as Wednesday, folding her arms in annoyance as she’s surrounded by the creepy environs of the grounds of Nevermore Academy.

“Rest in Production,” the announcement reads. “That’s a wrap on Season 2.”

To say Netflix fans are as giddy as Enid on a good day would be an understatement. Having gone so long without Wednesday in our lives, honorary Nevermore students are feeling overwhelmed.

Although now that their appetites have been whetted, they’re lurching for more. Teaser trailer when? Honestly, we’d accept three seconds of Ortega snapping her fingers. It’s better than nothing.

Looks like it’s time to do the Wednesday dance again! Your regular reminder, Netflix, that if you don’t give us a Lady Gaga cameo this season, there will be riots in the streets.

Ortega might look just as perfect in the role as ever, but there have been a lot of changes behind the scenes between Wednesday seasons 1 and 2. For starters, production relocated from Romania to Ireland, with the show shooting in the Emerald Isle since May. While Tim Burton is still directing (bringing on board co-directors Paco Cabezas and Angela Robinson), there have been numerous cast changes, both in of new faces ing and old faces getting replaced.

Fresh additions include Billie Piper, Christopher Lloyd, Thandiwe Newton, with Joanna Lumley as Grandmama Addams, and Steve Buscemi as Nevermore’s new principal, Barry Dort. Those on their way out are Jamie McShane (Sheriff Galpin), Naomi J. Ogawa (Yoko), and, most notably, Percy Hynes White (who played Wednesday’s love interest, Xavier Thorpe).

Considering Burton, Ortega, and showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar all just brought us Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, which turned out to be a supernaturally big hit this past fall, it’s fair to say hype for Wednesday season 2 is as high as the Addams’ butler. Unfortunately, it ain’t here just yet. Nor does the fact that shooting is over mean Netflix is going to drop it in time for Christmas.

Let’s do some math for a moment. Season 1 finished filming in March 2022 before releasing in November 2022. That means the show’s team requires about eight months to complete post-production work. By that metric, the earliest we can see season 2 is July 2025. And, really, that feels like an unseasonably sunny time for the show so fall 2025 seems much more plausible. Wednesday warriors may wish new episodes could arrive in a snap of Thing’s fingers, but it sadly doesn’t work that way. The good news? Season 3 will be here much sooner.

‘Please stop telling him that he can act’: The internet was excited for Jenna Ortega’s new thriller — until they saw her co-star https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/celebrities/please-stop-telling-him-that-he-can-act-the-internet-was-excited-for-jenna-ortegas-new-thriller-until-they-saw-her-co-star/ https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/celebrities/please-stop-telling-him-that-he-can-act-the-internet-was-excited-for-jenna-ortegas-new-thriller-until-they-saw-her-co-star/#respond Tue, 05 Nov 2024 18:24:49 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/?p=1783134 "Jenna Ortega will at least be good."]]>

Jenna Ortega is quickly and confidently becoming Hollywood’s new “It” girl. We don’t know if it’s her particularly gifted eye for picking out acclaimed shows and movies, or it’s simply her acting that makes her the perfect star, but whatever it is, she’s nailed it.

With her well-known love of horror cinema, fans have been praying and hoping that she’d finally be cast in the next big psychological thriller to keep us on our toes (RIP Gone Girl, you’ll be missed), and you know what — she finally heard us. As it turns out, a new movie is in the works starring not only Ortega, but also Barry Keoghan.

Just imagine Keoghan, one of Ireland’s brightest stars and a muse for Sabrina Carpenter’s music, alongside Carpenter’s other favorite muse, Ortega. “IT’S GOING TO BE A PSYCHOLOGICAL THRILLER WE WON,” said a fan on X. We were almost inclined to share that same sentiment. Almost.

Here’s where things took a turn. The film, titled Hurry Up Tomorrow, will be based on The Weeknd’s album. And, as it turns out, Abel Tesfaye himself will also star in this thriller alongside Ortega and Keoghan. At first glance, you might not think this is even noteworthy. After all, more often than not, musicians leap to acting at some point in their careers. But if The Idol taught us anything, it’s to proceed with caution.

Just hear us out. Everyone has a show that evokes a unique brand of frustration. For some, it’s Glee and Lea Michele’s singing-crying face, for others, it’s the incestuous shippers of Supernatural. But The Idol managed to inspire a collective dread like no other. What began as a promising project with a cool premise quickly became a pornographic spectacle for middle-aged men seeking power trips with much younger girls.

Imagine taking a show about a young pop star navigating the music world, only for lines like “He seems rapey”—”I kinda like that” to make it into the script. That’s The Idol in a nutshell. But the issue wasn’t only with the script or the premise — it was also Tesfaye’s acting. “One fascinating thing about The Idol is how quickly it reveals The Weeknd, the literal face of the show, as quite possibly one of the worst actors I’ve ever seen,” said a on X. Harsh, but no truer words have been spoken.

Naturally, fans were less than thrilled to hear about Tesfaye’s addition to this new film. While everyone undeniably wants to see Ortega and Keoghan tackle a psychological thriller, few are excited about Tesfaye’s return to the screen, especially alongside Hollywood’s biggest stars at the moment. “Stop casting The Weeknd in things, I’m BEGGING,” pleaded a fan.

https://twitter.com/h0neyxspit/status/1853627219576254629

There is a silver lining, though. Besides the album — which, in all fairness, we’re excited for, since if there’s one thing The Weeknd excels at, it’s making music — the film will not be directed by Sam Levinson. This could mean we’re in for a much better script, and aside from Tesfaye, much better acting. If only it weren’t for a small little detail that might derail the whole thing.

At this moment, IMDb currently lists Tesfaye as both a producer and a writer for the film, so there’s still something to be feared. Fortunately, the director is Trey Edward Shults, known for the psychological horror It Comes at Night and the 2019 drama Waves — so we might just be in good hands. While no release date has been announced, only time will tell if this flick will tank, much like a certain HBO drama.

When the mind-numbing news of Melissa Barrera being axed from the Scream franchise was first announced late last year, our horror-loving hearts were quickly crushed. So, what’s the funniest form of revenge she could enact? Well, that would be ing the cast of a much-anticipated parody project.

Earlier this week, horrorhounds were satisfied beyond belief after it was announced that the Wayans brothers would be returning to craft Scary Movie 6 — a long-awaited chapter in the historic horror-comedy franchise that’s certainly in need of some serious reigniting. The brothers previously worked on the first two movies in the gut-busting franchise before bowing out over creative woes with The Weinstein Company.

Flash forward to now, and the sixth movie has officially been greenlit — and the timing couldn’t be more perfect. After Barrera’s firing from Scream 7 back in November 2023, die-hard fans were understandably upset — especially when you consider the fact that Barrera was let go for simply expressing her own personal opinion about the war between Israel and Palestine. Despite her own right to freedom of speech, Barrera was fired, and not long after, Scream colleague Jenna Ortega also left the seventh movie due to “scheduling conflicts” with Netflix’s Wednesday.

Specific reasons aside, it was clear to eagle-eyed Scream fans that the duo were sticking together through Barrera’s unjust firing, which is why the 34-year-old ing the cast of Scary Movie 6 has the potential to go down in history as one of the funniest forms of revenge in Hollywood history. She might have been axed from the real thing (Scream 7), sure, but ing the cast of the long-standing franchise that has made a name for itself by being a Scream parody and mocking horror stereotypes? Well, that’s just gold.

Of course, nothing is officially set in stone at the time of this writing, but fans are already advocating for the young actress to enact some sweet revenge and the Wayans brothers and parody Scream 7 in the funniest way possible, with Ortega even possibly ing in on the fun.

Not only that, but fans all across X have simultaneously been championing for Scary Movie franchise veterans Regina Hall and Anna Faris to sign on for the sixth movie. Just imagine Hall, Faris, and newcomer Barrera all working together to make a complete joke out of a collection of current horror franchises. We need it.

At first, it looked as though the Scream franchise could possibly show some promise and pull some necessary tactics to make the seventh chapter worthwhile for fans, but the sixth Scary Movie flick being given the green light could arguably be the final nail in the coffin that would further push the idea that a modern-day Scream entry without Barrera and Ortega is absolutely pointless.

Now, that’s not to say that fans aren’t collectively thrilled that Neve Campbell is making her long-awaited return to the franchise that made her a household name, but the truth of the matter is that Barrera now has the golden opportunity to completely (and playfully) mock the very horror franchise that tossed her to the curb for simply sharing an opinion. Oh, how fast the tables can turn.

Netflix’s recent crowd-pleaser, Wednesday has not been without its controversies. Nonetheless, fans can gear up for some exciting news from the television series.

According to productionlist.com from the Film and Television Industry Alliance, season 3 of Wednesday is currently in pre-production. This comes as a shock to many considering the second season has not even aired yet.

Wednesday season 3 will allegedly start filming as of November 30, 2025, in Wicklow, Ireland. The following synopsis has been revealed for the new season:

Set at the Nevermore Academy, Wednesday Addams attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago, all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.

This plot could apply to season 2 as well as 3, but doesn’t stop fans from getting excited.

Wednesday has had a troubled history

In many ways, Wednesday was a return to form for Netflix. With Stranger Things on its way out, the series is a supernatural leaning story with an intriguing female presence — all united with Tim Roth’s spooky aesthetic. But while the investigation of strange happenings in a small town that feels close to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Wednesday quickly lost favor because of controversies.

The biggest was Percy Hynes White being dropped from season 2. The actor played Xavier in season 1 and was a competitor for Wednesday’s dark heart. The season revolves around Wednesday’s (Jenna Ortega) vacillation between posh Xavier and a local boy, Tyler (Hunter Doohan). The boys each represented contradictory qualities that Wednesday gravitates toward. Tyler is a seemingly normal human boy who just wants to get to know her, while Xavier is a supernatural teen who can most identify with Wednesday’s strangeness. Wednesday’s suspicion that either of them could be the murderer haunting Nevermore Academy makes things even more complicated.

It turns out that the predator was Tyler, in a surprising turn of events. The end of the season sets up Xavier and Wednesday’s burgeoning relationship. But since allegations against White came to light, the actor is confirmed to not be returning. This certainly puts Wednesday’s love life in jeopardy, but this is only one of the challenges surrounding the production. Ortega also received some heat for her behavior during season 1.

Ortega called into question some of the choices surrounding her character regarding the love triangle. Many writers in the industry were appalled at her behavior, stating she was overstepping her bounds. Wednesday writers broke their silence on the situation with grace, stating that these situations are bound to happen. Another way to look at it is that Ortega wasn’t overstepping, but advocating for her character. There is something positive about a young woman feeling empowered to speak her mind in a male-dominated industry without fear of being branded as “difficult.”

Regardless, season 2 has a lot riding on it. The love triangle from season 1 isn’t the entire reason why fans will be returning. I really hope this disturbing rumor about Glen Powell and Jenna Ortega isn’t true, because I’d hate to have to serve him a knuckle sandwich https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/celebrities/i-really-hope-this-disturbing-rumor-about-glen-powell-and-jenna-ortega-isnt-true-because-id-hate-to-have-to-serve-him-a-knuckle-sandwich/ https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/celebrities/i-really-hope-this-disturbing-rumor-about-glen-powell-and-jenna-ortega-isnt-true-because-id-hate-to-have-to-serve-him-a-knuckle-sandwich/#respond Wed, 25 Sep 2024 17:42:21 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/?p=1758694 It would be problematic, to put it mildly.]]>

Up until now, Glen Powell and Jenna Ortega have starred in completely different types of movies (and it’s amusing to think about what Wednesday Addams would think about his rom-coms). But they’ve both become super famous in a short period, and might even be co-stars soon. There’s an unsettling rumor going around about the two of them, though… and I’m crossing my fingers that it’s false!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ortega could appear alongside Powell in a new movie from J.J. Abrams, but it’s not official just yet. According to Life & Style Magazine, an anonymous source said, “she is his dream costar for this project, the first choice all the way.” They added, “They are being paid to have serious chemistry, and Glen thinks Jenna is gorgeous. Of course he would hook up with her in a heartbeat!”

It’s important to note that this is an unconfirmed rumor, and while an anonymous source claimed this is what Powell is thinking, the actor himself hasn’t said anything, or given any indication that he’s ever been inappropriate with his costars.

I would watch Ortega in any film and am happy to see her getting so much traction in Hollywood, and if she gets cast in this film, that would be great. However, the idea that 35-year-old Powell would want to be romantically involved with 21-year-old Ortega is super creepy. The 14-year age gap between the two stars wouldn’t be so disturbing if Ortega was in her 30s, but as it stands, it would be terrible if this rumor was true. While the age difference isn’t as large as the one between Ortega and Johnny Depp, who, horrifically, she was rumored to be dating, it would still be a big deal. 21 isn’t really that far away from being in your late teens, after all.

As Life & Style pointed out, people also commented on Powell and Sydney Sweeney flirting while promoting their rom-com Anyone But You. There was no truth to the rumor that they were in a relationship, though, just like there is zero proof suggesting that the Hit Man actor is interested in the Wednesday and Scream star. Maybe Glen Powell’s just a charming, flirty person.

While meeting cute on a movie set is the way a lot of Hollywood love stories begin, I’m tired of people assuming that stars have to date just becuase they play love interests. Actors are definitely capable of pretending to have feelings for someone and then calling it a day.

It’s even more frustrating to see so many rumors about Ortega’s romantic life, considering what she has said on the subject. She told Vanity Fair, “I don’t plan on speaking about my love life publicly, because that’s mine.” She wants fans to appreciate the characters that actors play, not focus on tabloid stories or chatter about their non-acting lives. Even if we did know who the star was dating, I would say her talent could never be ignored, and she’ll always perfectly embody thick-skinned characters like Wednesday Addams and Tara Carpenter. But I totally get what she means.

Ortega’s comments suggest a return to the old days when audiences knew nothing about stars except for their performances, and their current project. While some would love that, others like having access to their fave celebs via social media. I’m happy to hear anything about Ortega that she decides to share. And if she wants fans to pay the most attention to her fictional characters, I’m cool with that, too.

‘OMG PERF HALLOWEEN COSTUME IDEA’: Sabrina Carpenter fans snag her approval with their epic ‘Taste’-inspired video https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/social-media/omg-perf-halloween-costume-idea-sabrina-carpenter-fans-snag-her-approval-with-their-epic-taste-inspired-video/ https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/social-media/omg-perf-halloween-costume-idea-sabrina-carpenter-fans-snag-her-approval-with-their-epic-taste-inspired-video/#respond Sun, 15 Sep 2024 14:26:59 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/?p=1752274 They were inspired by the very best scene! ]]>

Sabrina Carpenter’s new track, “Taste,” is catchy and fun, but the music video, which features the gorgeous and talented Jenna Ortega, has created hype, and everyone wants to share their thoughts on it.

It delivers drama, scenes that would be totally at home in a horror film, and humor, and fans have so many theories about the collaboration, which is reported to have been inspired by the 1992 comedy film Death Becomes Her.

There is also the love triangle, which many believe hints at Carpenter’s complicated romance with Shawn Mendes and his relationship with Camila Cabello. Simply put, it’s everything we wanted and so much more. The song and the accompanying video have inspired fans to share their choreography and costumes on TikTok. This includes a simple but undeniably awesome dance posted by @juhdelavalle.

In the video, one woman is dressed in a white mini dress, wearing an eyepatch and a nurse’s hat (to resemble a sexy nurse’s costume), and another is in a pink polka-dot hospital gown (and she looks eerily similar to Carpenter). The clip is inspired by the scene in the hospital from the original “Taste” video.

The TikToker posted their video onto the platform, and although it’s just 15 seconds long, it has attracted a lot of attention from fans. “I thought it’s Sabrina and Olivia but then I looked more,” a comment reads. Another fan shared similar thoughts, writing, “This might be Sabrina and Olivia Rodrigo in another universe.” It’s true; the likeness is impressive.

The clip also gives fans the perfect Halloween costume idea. “I can see this as a Halloween costume for best friends or sisters with different aesthetics,” a comment reads. “OMG OMG PERF HALLOWEEN COSTUME IDEA,” another shared. But more importantly, the post received Carpenter’s blessing.

The singer took to the comment section to share her thoughts, writing, “so cute.” To which TikToker juhdelavalle responded by writing, “OMG.” Clearly, she is overwhelmed by the awesomeness of receiving this message.

Carpenter also reposted the clip on her Instagram Story, which got more eyes on the post. Fans have been excited about their favorite artist’s approval and the video has been flooded with comments referencing this. Reactions include “SABRINA JUST REPOSTED THIS, ”and “i saw this first on sabs insta!! congrats omg she reposted and commented ur soso lucky!!”

Imagine making a cute video and getting Sabrina Carpenter to react to it and share it with everyone. These women deserve to feel excited!

‘It’s never pleasant, but it just comes with the territory’: Netflix’s ‘Wednesday’ writers break their silence on Jenna Ortega’s script ‘missteps’ https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/netflix/its-never-pleasant-but-it-just-comes-with-the-territory-netflixs-wednesday-writers-break-their-silence-on-jenna-ortegas-script--missteps/ https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/netflix/its-never-pleasant-but-it-just-comes-with-the-territory-netflixs-wednesday-writers-break-their-silence-on-jenna-ortegas-script--missteps/#respond Fri, 13 Sep 2024 19:30:24 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/?p=1753260 Wednesday's child is full of woe.]]>

2022 was one of the best pop culture years in a long time. Horror fans got treated to well-crafted slashers like X, sci-fi lovers got the smart AppleTV series Severance, and everyone fell in love with Netflix‘s Wednesday. Now the writers of the Jenna Ortega series are talking about that thorny time when the star said exactly what she was thinking about the show.

In a September 2024 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Wednesday showrunners Miles Millar and Alfred Gough, who also wrote Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, shared what they really think about this awkward situation. Gough said “you have these young stars in the spotlight” and “They’re going to misstep. They’re going to say things.” He took an honest and compasisonate approach and said, “you just have to give them grace and know that it happens. It’s never pleasant, but it just comes with the territory.”

Of course, Millar and Gough were referring to when Ortega said Wednesday Adams’s love triangle “made no sense” on the Armchair Expert podcast hosted by Dax Shepard. There are two sides to every story, and it’s easy to say that both Ortega and the Wednesday writers are right, here.

On the one hand, since when does the Goth character get all googly-eyed over not one, but two classmates? On the other hand, shouldn’t an actor respect the words on the page, and not change scripts? Sure, a TV drama isn’t exactly improv, and cast aren’t supposed to say that their characters are doing or saying incorrect things. But then again, she can’t be the only actor who has had a problem with the journey their character was taking.

There are no hard feelings, though! Millar called Ortega “one of the hardest working, most talented young actresses” and said their work together is “joyful” and “collaborative” (what a relief). Since she’s a producer on season 2 of Wednesday, she’s got more of an official voice, which is a great thing in my Wednesday-loving opinion.

Millar and Gough also mentioned the massive amounts of attention that Ortega got because of what she said. They also brought up the point that young stars sometimes make mistakes and say the wrong thing. But I believe Ortega would have said what she said regardless of her age. As she told Vanity Fair, “women have to be princesses” and “when they’re outspoken,” the response is negative. Nothing she said or did was that terrible, was it?!

Ortega also said in her Vanity Fair interview that she “could have used my words better” which everyone can relate to! There are times when Ortega has found exactly the right words, like when she commented on those awful AI photos of herself. So she’s like the rest of us human beings: prone to sometimes finding it hard to articulate exactly what she wants to.

As an Ortega superfan, I’m excited to watch her in Wednesday season 2, whether or not she decides to talk about what’s in the script!

‘Marie Curie was Polish!!!’: Jenna Ortega is being destroyed by angry fans for one scene in ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/celebrities/marie-curie-was-polish-jenna-ortega-is-being-destroyed-by-angry-fans-for-one-scene-in-beetlejuice-beetlejuice/ https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/celebrities/marie-curie-was-polish-jenna-ortega-is-being-destroyed-by-angry-fans-for-one-scene-in-beetlejuice-beetlejuice/#respond Wed, 11 Sep 2024 13:22:38 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.moviesx.org/?p=1751909 Are the lectures neccessary?]]>

Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice has already proven to be a successful sequel, but a scene involving Jenna Ortega’s character, Astrid Deetz, has caused an uproar, and she’s being roasted on Instagram because of the failure.

The scene showed Astrid Deetz dres for Halloween as physicist and chemist Maria Salomea Skłodowska-Curie, more commonly referred to as Marie Curie. That’s not the problem; the issue fans have is that she referred to Curie as French. This comment has sparked outrage, and fans have been quick to correct Ortega, informing her that Curie was Polish (she was, but the confusion may be because she became a naturalized French citizen after living in the country for years).

Ortega shared a bunch of photos from behind the scenes on Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, but it’s clear that people have a lot of problems with the Halloween scene (and they are not ready to let it go). “Maria Skłodowska-Curie was Polish not french,” a comment reads. Another fan reacted similarly, writing, “Jenna did you know that Maria’s surname was SKŁODOWSKA-curie??? How could you said she was french??”

Jenna Ortega’s fans react with fury to Marie Curie being referred to as a French physicist

Although some comments on Jenna Ortega’s post have praised her acting (and she was great in this role) and others have raved about how good the film is, the most common theme is how she committed a vile act in referring to Marie Curie as French.

Other reactions on the topic include: “Jenna you can correct Skłodowska was Polish, not French,” “Try to say it properly ‘P O L I S H physicist’ again ‘P O L I S H,’ and now repeat it thousand times,” and “The comments — people seriously caring that much about Madame Currie? Like, that’s all you got out of the whole movie? Lame…Get over it people.”

Yes, everyone is really jumping on the bandwagon with this one and fans are furious. But did they miss the point of Ortega’s character’s comments? Was her character’s claim that Curie was French deliberate to poke fun at Americans and their shocking general knowledge and nonexistent ability to read a world map? There is a theory that has already emerged that could suggest this was the reason. There’s also something else we should highlight and that is that Ortega did not write the script!
