The real reason Trump wants to cut off PBS.]]>
<![CDATA[

Donald Trump has publicly called for the government to disassociate from NPR and PBS as he labeled the media outlets radical left “monster” who “so badly hurt our country!” But who are these so-called monsters? 2e2b4l

The president took to X to decry both channels. This comes after a hearing last week which saw Republicans pushing for public broadcasting channels to be dismantled and have their funding cut as part of the government’s initiative to slash spending. According to ABC News, Trump said he would “love to” see federal funding taken away from the public broadcasting system, meanwhile, Marjorie Taylor Greene said “We believe that you all can hate us on your own dime.”

It seems the Trump istration has taken issue with the political leanings of channels like PBS and, in an effort to cut federal spending, is looking into cutting them off.

Who are the “radical left monsters” Trump spoke of? 3i414

On X people mocked Trump with one person posting a picture of popular characters from the much loved PBS children’s show, Sesame Street.

So the cast of Sesame Street are apparently “radical” leftists it would seem — I always knew there was a reason I liked those guys. Count von Count always struck me as more of a right-leaning capitalist, (maybe it was because of the castle and the monocle) but I guess not. Now this old tweet from Trump makes so much more sense!

Clearly Donald Trump has been trying to warn us all about these monsters for a long long time, we just didn’t realize.

Do PBS and NPR even need federal funding? 5e5fe

All jokes aside, Trump’s war against media outlets that criticize him is disturbing, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s the end of these channels. As the Anonymous group pointed out in response to the president’s unhinged X post, “NPR is 99% publicly funded and 1% funded by the government, PBS is funded by the public also but gets about 15% of it’s funding from the government.” PBS confirmed as such in a piece written back in February while NPR claimed the 1% claim is “an accurate but incomplete description.”

Either way, these outlets are popular with people across the U.S. According to a poll from pewresearch.org 43% of Americans think that NPR and PBS should continue to receive federal funding compared to 24% who thought it should be taken away, (33% were unsure).

This is just another example of Trump pushing another unpopular policy that will likely only further tank his approval ratings. Either way, public broadcasting is important in any democracy and so is Sesame Street.

Has Warner Bros. Discovery gone too far this time?]]>
<![CDATA[

Elmo and friends are in danger of losing their home now that Warner Bros. Discovery is ending its HBO output deal with Sesame Street, but fans are already plotting where the beloved childhood show should move next.

Sesame Street has been an integral part of children’s television programming since it first began airing on PBS in 1969, but its history with HBO only stretches back to 2016 when Sesame Workshop signed a deal to create new episodes for the network. In 2019, Sesame Street made the jump to HBO’s streaming service Max, with new episodes airing on PBS nine months after premiering on the streamer. The Hollywood Reporter reports that episodes of the show will still be available on Max until 2027, but Sesame Workshop must now find a new partner in order to keep crafting new adventures for the characters you and I grew up with

While I always found the residents of Sesame Street on the cute side myself, some fans think they have the potential to scare score a new audience. “Fingers crossed for Shudder,” reads one post on X, suggesting the show’s new home should be the streaming service known for its horror offerings. Okay, fine, this is obviously a joke, but I think a horror spin-off could do numbers. With the phenomenon that is Five Nights at Freddy’s, as well as an explosion of familiar childhood faves re-imagined as slasher films, creepy Sesame Street isn’t the craziest thing in the world. Let’s put the monster in Cookie Monster, people!

Theoretical horror spin-off aside, there are better homes for the Sesame Street we know and love. “This seems like a no brainer for Disney Plus,” one fan writes on X, a sentiment others share. Warner Bros. Discovery explained it was shifting away from children’s programming in favor of adult and broader family entertainment, hence its decision to end its deal with Sesame Workshop. Disney is home to Jim Henson’s Muppets, and it would be a logical choice to house his creations under one corporate roof. It would be cool to see Kermit the Frog team up with his old pals once again, but not everyone thinks Disney is the best place for the IP.

Other fans suggest Apple and Universal take on Sesame Street. Universal, like Disney, could see the appeal of bringing the characters to its theme parks, but any network with deep pockets and a focus on kids’ television should be interested. Sesame Street has a dedicated fanbase of all ages, some of which get intense about these characters. “I hope Luigi gets out of jail so he can get David Zaslov next,” jokes one fan, calling on the name of alleged CEO dispatcher, Luigi Mangione

It’s clear the people want justice for Sesame Street. Despite the contract’s end nearing, Sesame Workshop’s Executive VP and chief creative development and production officer Kay Wilson Stallings was optimistic about the show’s future when she spoke with The Hollywood Reporter in 2023. She shared that season 56 will involve longer, more narrative-driven segments instead of the “magazine” style Sesame Street has used for decades. “Kids love a little bit of peril, they love having emotional stakes, and in nine minutes, it’s kind of hard to really dive into those areas really effectively,” Wilson Stallings said at the time. It’s reassuring to know Sesame Workshop executives are planning for the future even when that future is shaky. Here’s hoping Sesame Street finds a new home soon.

'Whose name equals trash, to you and to me?']]>
<![CDATA[

For more than a decade now, the vast majority of America — and much of the rest of the world — has been onto Donald Trump’s game.

He thrives on controversy, hateful attacks, and fabricated issues, and years of petulant pushback have proven that he’d rather break the board in half than play a fair game. As a result, most of us are entirely disillusioned when it comes to the former president, but it took us far too long to realize the threat he posed to the United States of America.

You know who wasn’t surprised to discover Trump’s true colors? Sesame Street. Apparently thriving in its Simpsons era, the children’s television show established — a good two decades before the presidency was a glimmer in his eye — that “Donald Grump” was the worst kind of human.

A clip from the treasured educational program has been recirculating as the Trump campaign trades blows with Kamala Harris, re-establishing that this man has been a crook, a liar, and a braggart for longer than some of us have been alive. Exposed for the world to see by TikToker @savvy_from_maine, the series dedicated an entire song to the one and only “Donald Grump,” the man with “the most trash of any grouch in the world.”

Every line from the glorious little segment is comedy gold, particularly now that Trump’s shady business dealings and outright criminal behavior have been exposed. He does, in fact, plaster his name “on every piece of trash in town,” offers up the “best rubbish and scuzz” via products like Trump Steaks, and as his orange-haired caricature petulantly notes, he boasts “more trash” than the rest of us combined.

The fact that this blatant, harsh criticism of Trump came from Sesame Street makes the video all the better, particularly considering how long ago the episode aired. Sesame Street has been poking fun at the overtly villainous and trash-hoarding “Grump” for decades now, and he’s far from the only high-profile figure the program has targeted. Trump himself has come under fire numerous times, but he s hundreds of others in getting a dressing-down from the children’s show.

It’s kind of inevitable, given Sesame Street’s tenure; the show has been on the air since 1969 and in 2023, it celebrated its 54th season. Over the years, it has put out more than 4,500 episodes in total, educating youths on any range of vital early development topics and taking shots at the controlling, heartless jerks of the world in the process.

Yep, the same self-described misogynist who wants women to bear responsibility for sexual assault.]]>
<![CDATA[

Turns out Elmo should not just be teaching children their ABCs. According to Andrew Tate, it also falls on his furry red shoulders to be a role model for toxic masculinity.

A post by Tate from March 2023 has resurfaced and is, rightly, doing the rounds again on X.

https://twitter.com/sirDukeDevin/status/1811376099563020416

Accusing the celebrity puppet of “vilifying masculinity and what it means to be a man,” Tate showed his distaste for Elmo’s personal brand of warmth and conviviality by wishing that the whole of Sesame Street be reduced to a fiery wasteland. That’s right. Tate’s fury is so extreme that he cares not a jot if the homes of Elmo’s neighbors, Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, and Snuffleupagus, burn, too. Don’t worry, we know that they are not real, but since Tate is pretty sure that Sesame Street has a presence beyond the camera, we are playing along to not dismantle his already shaky psyche.

And, anyway, the inhabitants of Sesame Street have provided supplementary education for millions of children worldwide, enriching lives and showing everyone that learning can be fun. All of that for free, unlike Tate’s ‘Hustlers University’ grift that costs $49.99 a month.

The first time this post emerged, people had a great time bringing Tate and his Elmo hate down. This time is no different.

https://twitter.com/Matthew_DS9/status/1811762190174576659

Seeing how Tate has trouble differencing reel from real life, one jumped to mock scare him, adding how Elmo possesses “great power” and Tate would be stupid to pick a quarrel with him.

While most took shots at Tate by making light of his absurd hatred for the most beloved puppet of all time, one X opted for a more serious angle to criticize Tate and everything he is known for.

He’s not wrong.

Tate may talk a big game, but if he was really serious about starting beef with Elmo, it’s high time he called him out to fight — Muppet v. the real-life muppet. I know who my money is on.

<![CDATA[

Having evolved from a fiercely competitive and relentlessly driven superstar into one of the elder statesmen of wholesomeness, Arnold Schwarzenegger is much more likely to be found handing out sage words of wisdom and offering encouraging urgings of positivity these days than trying to get one over on his rivals and competitors.

The action icon’s social media feeds in particular have become a constant barrage of uplifting soundbites, anecdotes, and positivity being showered in the direction of his millions of followers, but he may have bitten off more than he can chew this time after attempting to rectify the lifetime of misery and discontent that’s defined every aspect of Oscar the Grouch‘s existence.

That’s right; the Austrian Oak, bodybuilding legend, cinematic titan, real estate mogul, bestselling author, and former Governor of California seems convinced that he can do unthinkable, which all started with the most unexpected of exchanges when the resident grump of Sesame Street decided that Schwarzenegger was somebody worth taking a shot at.

Effectively Arnold’s version of “I can fix him,” you get the sneaking suspicion that not even the man who single-handedly took down a Predator and delayed the inevitability of Judgement Day on more than one occasion has what it takes to transform Oscar the Grouch into a happy-go-lucky, jovial slab of dumpster-residing felt.

We’d love to see him try, though, if only because watching Schwarzenegger and Oscar go head-to-head is destined to stir up feelings of warm and fuzzy nostalgia in an entire generation who grew up utterly enamored by both.

What is Marvel planning?]]>
<![CDATA[

If I had a nickel for every vegetable-humanoid that appeared in a recent MCU feature, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.

Fans of Marvel have noticed it too and it’s led some to jokingly conclude that the studio is setting up some sort of vegetable-themed hero team. Could this be a thing? It is a pretty weird coincidence that two back-to-back movies gave us some weirdly veggie-looking aliens, after all.

IN Quantamania, they have a character that looks like Broccoli .

Hank Pym “….. holy s***, that guy looks like broccoli ! “

IN GOTG 3- Gamora was going to shoot a person who looks like a carrot.

Anything in any other Marvel Movies?

Is there a salad or a vegetable theme going on ?

Both of these alien characters have pretty striking appearances, the Broccoli man in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania helps the freedom fighters against Kang, whilst Carrot guy appears in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and is part of the security team at the Orgoscope that try to stop the Guardians escaping. Both characters have clearly made an impression on fans who watched both movies.

One fan dubbed the new Marvel team-up “The Avengetables” which has a nice ring to it. As it turns out, Sesame Street already had a very similar idea years ago in which the Cookie Monster teamed up with a bunch of vegetable-themed Avengers lookalikes to fight against Bon-Bon, a villain whose sole goal is to destroy all healthy food. A fan shared a clip of the children’s show parodying the MCU back in the good old days before the MCU became a parody of itself.

Other fans racked their brains for other examples of vegetable-human hybrids appearing in the MCU, but unsurprisingly, there isn’t more. If there were, this wouldn’t be a joke, but a serious speculative article theorizing about what possibilities Marvel has up its sleeve for such strange and unique-looking characters.

Other fans’ minds just went straight to the gutter with comments referring to the Hulk’s you-know-what as a Zucchini being one such example.

Banner and Nat playing hide the zucchini in AoU.

Anyways, maybe we really are seeing the seeds of a new MCU exclusive team being sown. We could have Captain Carrot, the Incredible Leek, the Amazing Cauliflower, and the leader of the team, Garlic Fury. Together, they form the Avengetables, Earth’s mightiest salad.

Has any of these people watched 'Sesame Street?']]>
<![CDATA[

The PBS children’s show Sesame Street has always been known to teach love and inclusion throughout its half-century of broadcasting. However, conservatives have emerged from the rock that they’ve been sleeping under once it addressed Pride Month.

It all started when Sesame Street posted on Twitter, wishing a happy Pride Month to everyone who celebrates. The tweet included a photo of the pride flag hanging alongside some smiling flowers in a garden. Innocent, right? Well, not according to the unhappy conservatives who took issue with the message being conveyed to children.

So what was the opposition arguing when this tweet came out? Apparently, they alleged that “Sesame Street is spreading the gay agenda” through this post. Funny they say this in a show where there were depictions of LGBT+ communities in the song “We All Sing with the Same Voice.” Let’s not forget the ongoing speculation about Bert and Ernie’s relationship status, either.

ers called out a now-deleted tweet, where someone asked Sesame Street to go “all out,” if you know what I mean. Apparently, whenever someone talks about LGBT+ representation, the first thing that comes out in people’s minds is gay sex.

https://twitter.com/PootsOfCum/status/1668412030255239168?s=20

To combat the homophobes who claim that Sesame Street is now ing the “gay agenda,” people dug up old content throughout the years, which clearly showed that it’s always been inclusive. It’s worth noting that Jim Henson worked with gay performers like Richard Hunt, further emphasizing that this beloved children’s franchise has consistently ed the LGBT+ community.

https://twitter.com/brianjayjones/status/1665722950606258179?s=20

It’s such as shame that there are adults out there who don’t want to teach their kids love and acceptance and continue on this conservative mindset. Sesame Street has always taught children, including myself and many others, to love and one another. Hopefully, these adults would rewatch the show and perhaps learn a thing or two.

This episode of 'Sesame Street' is about online verification.]]>
<![CDATA[

This online exclusive episode of Sesame Street is about losing something valuable. And unfortunately, that is a lesson that will be learned the hard way by our favorite children’s characters, especially Elmo. The residents of Sesame Street – along with a plethora of celebrities and influencers – have lost their blue verification badges, and these characters will learn a hard and dangerous lesson if it’s not found on time.

A handful of Sesame Street favorites took the time to say farewell to the checkmark after they noticed it was missing. Out of all of them, it seems like Oscar the Grouch was celebrating the most, since it means people would leave him alone from this point forward.

However, it seems like Elmo was hit the most once the little monster discovered that his checkmark was gone. Elmo said that it will miss the checkmark but at the end of the day “Elmo is still Elmo.” Fortunately, people provided Elmo comfort and called out Twitter CEO, Elon Musk to give him his badge back.

If there is one thing we learned about social media, it’s that not everyone is truthful with their emotions. According to Big Bird, that might be the case since he saw the tweet as Elmo’s call for help to find something he’s lost.

Unfortunately, Elmo’s, as well as the rest of the Sesame Street crew’s badges were found, but purchased by seedy impersonators who plan to not entertain and educate kids, but rather promote the benefits of web3 and crypto. At the same time, other shady Elmo fakers have emerged from the shadows, intending to take over Elmo’s place on the internet.

https://twitter.com/ehlmoe/status/1649243416960835584?s=20

It’s now up to Musk to help this little red monster find his verification before his name is tarnished by impersonators. After all, he did manage to find Stephen King, LeBron James, and William Shatner’s blue badges. For now, all Elmo could do is look for it, or pay Oscar the Grouch to see if he knows anyone in the black market that could provide a replacement.

Maybe celebrities like Jack Black and Halle Berry should come over and visit the little monster, and teach him that you don’t need a blue tick to be cool.

<![CDATA[

You may have thought that NFTs were dead by now, especially due to the multiple scamstheft, and allegations that occurred from time to time. But that doesn’t seem to be the case, thanks to Sesame Street. This 54-year-old children’s program has announced that it will be releasing digital tokens for avid collectors who are still fans of the show, or grew up with the program when they were younger.

This first collection of Sesame Street NFTs will feature the iconic blue monster, Cookie Monster. According to Variety, there will be 5,555 tokens up for grabs, priced at $60 each. Sesame Workshop has confirmed with Variety that it plans to release more collectibles later in the year, perhaps featuring other characters from the show.

The Sesame Street NFT is a collaborative project with VeVe digital collectibles, a website that offers digital collectibles from NFTs to digital comic books. This company has worked with other notable IPs such as DC, Star Trek, and Back To The Future, just to name a few. The company started back in 2018, and had its first major partnership with the fashion brand Givenchy in 2021. According to VeVe’s website, collectors can showcase their collections through augmented reality, as well as access them through the VeVe app.

Sesame Workshop’s VP for Global Strategic Partnerships and Themed Entertainment Jennifer Ahearn released a statement about the brand’s new digital partnership, stating that these digital collectibles “are a great way to celebrate” the show’s legacy.

“Collaborating with VeVe for [Sesame Street’s] first collection of digital collectibles is a great way to celebrate [the series’] enduring legacy and give our long-time fans a new way to showcase their love for Sesame Street and its characters,”

Despite the multiple bad presses that NFTs have received, these digital tokens are here to stay. Just last year, former president Donald Trump launched his own NFT collection for his patriots, with each token retailing at $99. Meanwhile, Rick and Morty‘s co-creator, Dan Harmon promoted his animated TV show with an NFT collection, which also gives collectors exclusive access to “private experiences” like merch and early access to future episodes.

If you’re interested in collecting these NFT tokens based on the popular and ongoing children’s program, the first drop of the Cookie Monster collection will be available on the VeVe digital collectibles app on March 19, 2023.

If Winnie the Pooh can be a horror icon, then why can't these characters?]]>
<![CDATA[

It’s only been a few days since Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, the latest viral horror spectacle, released in theaters and attracted a huge cult following. As silly as it sounds, the bizarre “creature feature” centers around infamous children’s characters Winnie the Pooh and Piglet as the two turn in their innocence for a bloodthirsty murder campaign. Of course, the fiery need for revenge is initially caused by Christopher Robin abandoning the two, heading to college, and subsequently finding a girlfriend.

The premise itself is an oddity, sure, but that certainly doesn’t discount the fact that the movie just screams entertainment. As a result, director Rhys Waterfield has prematurely decided to make future projects in the cartoon-characters-turned-slasher-villains universe. In the days following Blood and Honey’s release, the slasher-inspired filmmaker announced two projects, Bambi: The Reckoning and Peter Pan: NeverLand Nightmare. And yes, these are completely real. But before those dual projects are brought to life, let’s explore 10 other horrid spinoffs that we desperately need to see.

Stuart Little: Blood and Cheese 3z3h5p

Image via Sony Pictures Releasing

Before immediately shooting down the idea, it’s difficult to deny that seeing Stuart Little take on a villainous role would be peak cinema. In the past, film buffs have often wondered which rodent character would win in a fight — Remy from Ratatouille or Stuart Little. The question itself is extremely hard to answer, but perhaps a full-on battle between the two is the key ingredient to a fun-filled slasher extravaganza. Just a thought, at least.

Pippi Longstocking: Murder and Socks 2b244p

Image via Svensk Filmindustri

Sooner or later, beloved character Pippi Longstocking is going to lose her marbles and use her socks for a more sinister purpose. And with Rhys Waterfield adapting all of these live-action slasher staples for the horror community, then it seems fair enough to state that we could all possibly see this idea brought to life on the big screen in the future. For now, however, it’s simply just a pipe dream with an enthralling premise.

The Magic School Bus: Highway to Hell 275q3o

Image via PBS

Could you imagine a slasher film specifically focused on Mrs. Frizzle completely going off the rails? It wouldn’t be the strangest thing to happen in the horror genre, but it would definitely be one of the most intriguing. Of course, it would be heartbreaking to watch her being driven to the point of madness and driving her beloved class off a cliff after riding on the “Highway to Hell,” but at this point, the script basically just writes itself.

PB and J Otter: Weasels and Death 6u2k61

Image via Playhouse Disney

In a series revolving around two adorable otters with names like PB and J, it almost feels criminal to imagine the duo in a gruesome horror flick. And yet, the possibilities are seemingly endless, and there’s certainly no denying that the film would seriously disrupt nostalgia and ruin plenty of childhoods. Then again, Blood and Honey did the same thing, and look how successful that’s been at the box office thus far.

Barney: Jurassic Assassin r5gp

Image via PBS

Judging by the looks of the recently remade Barney character, this horror idea isn’t far off from what could be reality. Nevertheless, Barney finally snapping after years of dealing with snot-nosed kids and maddening singalongs would showcase one of the most delightful horror films of the modern decade. That is, if you’re into the unknown sub-genre of a blood-splattering purple dinosaur.

Mickey Mouse: Of Mice and Massacre 3o3d5n

Image via Disney

Interestingly enough, Mickey Mouse is legitimately a character on this list that could receive an actual horror standalone film. Due to the character rapidly approaching the public domain, which would release him of his copyright connection to Disney, it might only be a matter of time until Waterfield jumps on this and creates a blood-stained cinematic experience. Only time will tell, of course, but horror stans will have fun dreaming for the time being.

The Muppet Murders: Slaughter and Piggies 5y6z3j

Image via ABC

Truth be told, there are times when The Muppets are terrifying enough just based on their appearance. But with the possibility of the entire narrative being transformed into a horrifying horror flick, then perhaps they have yet to fully reach their terrifying potential. It would be interesting to deduce which Muppets character would go rogue and feast upon the rest of the clan, but failing to nominate Miss Piggy as the ringleader would undoubtedly be a silly mistake.

Sesame Street: Carnage and Puppets 3to53

Image via PBS

Much like The Muppets, Sesame Street would be a fantastic glimpse into the fears and horrors of talking, movable puppets. However, with how popular the series is amongst children, it would surely be a difficult step to take for Waterfield for any other determined filmmaker. Perhaps eager directors would have to sit back and wait for the show to finally be off the air to pull the trigger on a slasher-inspired flick, but that certainly wouldn’t stop horror fans from looking forward to such an unfathomable cinematic venture.

Dexter’s Laboratory: Science and Stabbing 564v5s

If you didn’t spend your childhood adhering to the scientific wonders of Dexter’s Laboratory, then what exactly were you doing with your free time as a 2000s kid? Then again, the science-inspired series focused solely on Dexter and his older sister Dee Dee, so imagining the duo involved in a horror movie would seem tricky. But who knows, maybe the brother-and-sister duo engaged in an intense war with each other could serve up plenty of grisly gore. The option is still on the table, at least.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Brutality and Pineapples 6i5dk

The possibility for a SpongeBob-inspired horror feature is arguably one of the most exciting on this list. This concept has certainly been aided by spooky Creepypasta stories such as “Squidward’s Suicide,” which undoubtedly help to add credibility to the opportunity for SpongeBob to be placed in a horror film chock-full of eerie characters. Of course, this idea is unlikely to ever be brought to fruition, but we can certainly dream, can’t we?

Fans are already beginning to decipher which Spider-Man (or Gwen. or Ham.) is which in the newly released trailer for next year’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse trailer but even a cursory examination reveals that one of the greatest Spider-Heroes of all seems to be missing from the mix. Sure, it’s easy to spot Spider-Man 2099, Spider-Punk, and there’s even a glimpse of the rarely seen Peter Parker With a Paper Bag Over His Head variant, but where’s the Spider-Guy from the friendliest neighborhood in New York City?

Where is Spider-Monster?

https://twitter.com/HistoryMuppet/status/1602719218906046464

Of course, Spider-Monster may not be as well known as some Spider-Men. He’s never appeared in the comics and if you weren’t watching Sesame Street by yourself or with your kids ten years ago you might not even know he exists. He has his roots in a slice of Spider history that many consider best forgotten— the seemingly cursed Spider-man musical of 2011, Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark.

It may seem a strange topic for the most popular children’s television show of all time to skewer but back in 2011, the ill-fated musical had made so many headlines due to its technical difficulties, injured actors, and multiple opening nights that even the Children’s Television Workshop felt it necessary to take a swipe at it. In the sketch, a single patron attempts to see the musical Spider-Monster only to find the star, played by the muppet Grover, literally falling into his lap while attempting to “fly.”

Grover does manage to take flight after a lesson about pulleys but unfortunately his efforts don’t seem to be enough to earn a guest appearance in Sony’s latest Spider-Movie.

At least he’ll always have his Super Grover identity to fall back on. But maybe he can negotiate an Easter egg post-credits sequence.

In a moment that is truly bittersweet, fans are ing when McGrath himself explained how it feels to lose someone you love and how we can take comfort in having known them.

During McGrath’s run on the show one of the other characters, Mr. Hooper played by Will Lee, ed away in order to reflect the actor’s own ing. Sesame Street took this as an opportunity to teach children about death and how difficult it can be to come to with it. In the clip, Big Bird struggles to accept that his friend is truly gone and talks about how it won’t be the same without him. You’re right, Big Bird. It’s… It’ll never be the same around here without him. But you know something? We can all be very happy that we had the chance to be with him, and to know him, and to love him a lot when he was here.

Fans are now taking the words to heart once more as they mourn the loss of a man who likely will have been a profound presence in their lives as they watched and were educated by the show growing up.

It’s surprisingly hard when someone who we looked up to in our childhood es away, as we all that they taught us and the wisdom they imparted. In the case of Bob McGrath, he championed kindness and comion for others in his near five-decade run on Sesame Street, from 1969 to 2016. He left an indelible mark on his fans and all those who tuned into the show.

Our thoughts and condolence are with his friends and family at this time.
