Everything that could be said about Aimee Lou Wood and Walton Goggins’ alleged on-set romance gone sour already exists somewhere on the internet. It had seemed like even they were tired of it and that we might never get any actual details from The White Lotus stars themselves. Somehow, though, fans got what they wanted.

Goggins’ wife recently dismissed all the rumors about her husband’s alleged affair, chalking it up to him simply being more famous these days. Wood, however, hasn’t been asked nearly as much about the alleged romance or the infamous unfollowing shenanigans. But in a new sit-down with Variety, the two finally addressed the speculation — together.

It’s worth noting that Goggins had previously walked out of interviews for merely bringing up his co-star’s name, so this conversation was, by all s, highly unprecedented. Excitement was palpable when it was announced the two would sit down — it felt like a surprise bonus episode of the show’s third season.

Goggins was effusive in his praise of Aimee Lou Wood, getting intense about their first meeting: “It felt like I had already known her for 100 years.” The two apparently formed their own little pod separate from the rest of the cast, referring to themselves as “foxes” because they’d pick at meals and retreat into their cocoon — far from the large cast dinners often hosted by Patrick Schwarzenegger, who had his own on-set struggles.

Wood likened The White Lotus’s production to reality shows like Love Is Blind or Love Island, describing how the cast had to quickly adjust to a new location and blend personal and professional lives. Despite their mutual iration, the pair itted to being disappointed with how the final show turned out.

They expressed reverence for creator Mike White’s writing but revealed frustration that a love scene from the final episode was cut. They joked about demanding a director’s cut, calling the scene crucial to them both.

The conversation naturally shifted to the controversial SNL sketch that mocked Wood’s teeth. According to Wood, targeting her looks was misogynistic. Goggins’ initial decision to post the sketch and later delete it had caused a stir, but with hindsight, he now sees Wood as brave for speaking out in the first place.

That led them to the question everyone wanted answered: did the sketch cause a feud? Goggins shut that down quickly. Goggins said:

“There is no feud. I adore, I love this woman madly, and she is so important to me. This is Goldie Hawn. This is Meg Ryan. She can do anything and she will. Watch what the next 20 years of her experience will be. I’ll be on an island Greece, I think. But she’s special. There is no feud. She is love. And I know I am that to her. We care about each other very deeply.”

So there you have it, folks. No on-set romance, no feud — just two ionate actors who care deeply about each other and their work. And we didn’t even have to wait for a post-career memoir for the full breakdown. Honestly, they better get an Emmy nod — if not for their acting, then at least for keeping the show in the zeitgeist this long.

Some way, somehow, The White Lotus became one of the defining shows of the decade. The anthology series somehow found a way to make fans not just invested in the characters but the actors who played them too — and it wasn’t long before Walton Goggins was linked to his onscreen love interest, Aimee Lou Wood.

The show’s run and its immediate aftermath led to one of the funniest cast dramas probably since Don’t Worry Darling. The cast were constantly following and unfollowing each other. Jason Isaacs was going on talk shows to talk about how shooting the series resembled a season of Survivor, calling the experience a “pressure cooker” where apparently alliances were formed and broken. But through all the chaos, there was one relationship that remains fans’ true north star.

During the show’s run, Walton Goggins spoke highly of Aimee Lou Wood. He told People, “We both became enmeshed in each other the way that Rick and Chelsea are, so I think the world of her.” However, soon after the show ended, the two suddenly unfollowed each other on Instagram — and to fuel even more rumors that there was a falling out behind the scenes, they even removed posts that gushed about what a pleasure it was working with each other.

But here’s the thing: Walton Goggins is married, and Isaacs also let the cat out of the bag saying there were romances on the set. Whose romance exactly? Fans assumed Goggins, of course. Goggins’ wife, Nadia Conners, has up until now been silent on the entire matter, but finally Hello Magazine caught up with her and she said: “It’s odd to see it, but it’s an indication of how much people were invested in the fictional characters. I take it as a sign that he’s become quite popular.”

Walton Goggins has been having quite a career indeed. He’s been one of those characters who never quite gets the lead role but silently builds one of the best catalogues in the business. But in 2025, he’s clearly going to hit the next level — with The White Lotus being followed up directly by Fallout and doing voice work in quite possibly the best season of Invincible.

But currently, Goggins is clearly over the Wood situation, and he’s no longer playing around with people who try to catch him with his foot in mouth. The Times UK unfortunately found themselves at the wrong end of his Southern charm and patience when they asked him about Aimee Lou Wood, only for him to sternly reply, “I’m not gonna have that conversation.” When they kept pressing, he ended the interview altogether.
So there you have it folks, it’s over. Hollywood is certainly full of onset romances and affairs, and some iconic couples even had their start in such situations. Goggins, however, is clearly past that particular moment in his life and will probably never revisit it. Unless we get a memoir at the twilight of his career like 20 years from now.

But for now, all Goggins wants to focus on is his family and career.

The rumored conflict between White Lotus co-stars Aimee Lou Wood and Walton Goggins has been the subject of a lot of speculation since the end of the show’s third season. The rumors, which were fueled by their social media activity and the fact that they were not seen interacting publicly, grew stronger after a Saturday Night Live sketch that made fun of Wood’s character.

The Met Gala 2025 gave them a chance to directly address the ongoing rumors. While both Wood and Goggins attended the event, they noticeably avoided each other on the red carpet. However, Wood took photos with their White Lotus co-star Patrick Schwarzenegger, who confirmed that he arrived at the event with Wood. This contrasted with Wood and Goggins’ lack of interaction, making it seem like there might still be some tension between them.

Wood tried hard to shut down the feud rumors during interviews at the Met Gala, according to Page Six. She clearly stated that she enjoyed working with Goggins, calling the experience “the best thing ever.” She also said she was excited about his appearance on Saturday Night Live, which seemed like an effort to downplay any remaining bad feelings.

Aimee Lou Wood denies any feud

At first, she hesitated when asked if she would make a surprise appearance on the show with Goggins, but she eventually said no. She itted that she needed to talk things over with Goggins about what happened with the SNL sketch and their roles in White Lotus.

The speculation started in April 2025, not long after the season finale aired. Fans noticed that Wood and Goggins, who played the on-screen couple Chelsea and Rick, were not following each other on Instagram. This is often seen as a sign of tension among celebrities. Making things worse, the actors did not promote the show together and avoided tagging each other in cast photos on social media.

This lack of public collaboration and the fact that they didn’t follow each other online led to widespread rumors of a disagreement between them. The situation gets even more intense when Goggins publicly praises the Saturday Night Live sketch that mocks Wood’s character, specifically mentioning her teeth.

The Saturday Night Live parody, which was part of a “White Potus” skit, became a major point of tension. Wood first shared her feelings about the sketch on Instagram, which led to a lot of reactions online. She later explained that her emotional response was about the sketch and unrelated personal issues.

The situation quickly got out of hand, with Wood’s reaction being misunderstood and exaggerated by online discussions. She then tried to clarify, saying she was overwhelmed by how strongly people reacted and that the situation was much more complicated than it seemed at first.

Goggins had previously refused to talk about the rumored feud in an interview, giving a short and dismissive answer. His unwillingness to discuss it only made the rumors grow stronger. The reporter seemed uncomfortable after his response, showing how intense the situation was. By not addressing the rumors directly, Goggins made the media speculation even worse.

Unlike Goggins, Wood chose to actively respond to the rumors, though she focused on her own perspective and experiences. Her comments suggested that the drama had been blown out of proportion by the media and online discussions.

Now it seems we can add another to this select, ignominious list. Marvel’s Multiverse Saga is infamously cluttered with projects that have been announced but have yet to materialize. Still, in most cases, we’re hoping that given enough time they’ll sort themselves out. Yes, even Blade. When it comes to this particular production, though, the latest intel is suggesting Marvel is definitively washing its hands of a film it’s been trying to bring to life for at least five years.

A solo project for one of the MCU’s oldest heroes has supposedly been scrapped

Anyone out there still desperately waiting for news on Armor Wars? Well, if you are then I have some bad news for you. The most recent updates on the long-struggling War Machine-centric project indicate that the House of Ideas has run out of ideas on this one and it’s now officially canned.

First of all, scooper MyTimeToShineHello obliquely suggested Armor Wars was fated never to test its mettle (or metal) when they responded to a GIF of Don Cheadle’s Rhodey with the tweet, “Wish his movie wasn’t cancelled.” ComicBookMovie then did some digging of their own and their sources told them that the film was “as good as dead.” Yikes. Obviously, it’s entirely up to you how much stock you put into such uncorroborated information, but it’s certainly not looking good.

Originally announced in December 2020, Armor Wars began life as a Disney Plus series, but Marvel soon felt confident enough in the concept to bump it up to a feature. Comedian, actor, and writer Yassir Lester was attached to provide the screenplay, whose story was set to see Cheadle’s Rhodey confronting “one of Tony Stark’s greatest fears when Stark’s tech falls into the wrong hands.”

We never did find out whose hands were the wrong ones, but we do know who would’ve given them the Stark tech. Two-time Emmy nominee Walton Goggins was due to reprise his role as black market broker Sonny Burch from Ant-Man and the Wasp (and What If…? season 3). At one point, shooting was pegged for early 2023 in London, but needless to say that never happened.

The death-knell for Armor Wars was likely Cheadle’s prior MCU return in Secret Invasion, the universally panned streaming embarrassment that implied Rhodey had been a Skrull imposter since 2016’s Captain America: Civil War. That left Armor Wars with the need to rescue (or perhaps retcon) that highly controversial storyline, which may have ultimately proven too great a task.

Who knows, maybe reports of Armor Wars‘ death have been greatly exaggerated and it’ll assemble on our screens eventually. What with the production troubles of this year’s Ironheart, however, it sure seems like all of Marvel’s attempts to spinoff the Iron Man franchise are proving a lot trickier than you’d think. No wonder they brought Robert Downey Jr. back for Avengers: Doomsday (aka The Kang Dynasty‘s murderer).

NYCC began in 2005 and has since grown into the state’s most popular convention. Over the years NYCC has attracted larger names and talent from some of the biggest movie and TV studios in the world. The Fallout TV show has landed, and to glowing reviews as well. The only downside is that it’s already over; all eight episodes dropped on Amazon last night and that wait for the next season is going to be tough especially considering how the first season ended.

Initially fans suspected that the series would be a re-telling of Fallout 3’s story, and whilst it does share some elements with the 2008 game, like a young vault dweller leaving the vault in search of their father, it’s mostly a wholly original adventure. Our protagonist Lucy comes from vault 33, a vault that seems pretty normal at first. Of course, if you’re familiar with Fallout lore, you know there’s no such thing as every vault is secretly an experiment on the unsuspecting inhabitants.

We quickly find out that Vault 33 is connected with two other vaults, 31 and 32, in order to share resources. It’s even possible to apply to marry someone from another vault if an individual is incapable of finding a partner in their own vault. This is exactly what Lucy does, however, things have gone horribly wrong in Vault 32 resulting in Lucy’s father, Hank, being kidnapped and brought to the surface which kick-starts the whole adventure.

So what is Vault 31?

We know of Vault 31’s existence in the very first episode, as Hank mentions that’s where he came from, but the truth about it isn’t revealed until much later. Whilst Lucy continues searching for her father in the wasteland, her brother, Norm, who stayed underground, starts to uncover the awful truth about the three vaults.

Upon entering Vault 31, Norm meets a Brain-on-a-Roomba, (that’s literally what the Amazon Video X-Ray calls him) although he’s later revealed to be Bud Askins, a Vault-Tec executive tasked with guarding the secrets of 31. It turns out that everybody in 31 is an employee who was loyal to Vault-Tec and has been cryogenically frozen. The plan is that they would be woken up 200 years later to breed with the residents of the other two vaults and then take control of what’s left of the U.S.

The truth about Hank

Of course, Hank came from that vault, so that means he’s a part of Vault-Tec. In flashbacks we see him as an assistant executive going by the name Henry, as he nervously asks Cooper for his autograph. He was woken up and brought to Vault 33 to ensure that it survived at any cost, even if that meant dropping a nuclear bomb on Shady Sands with Lucy’s mother still there.

Fallout has finally dropped onto Prime Video, and much like the video game series it’s based off of, fans and critics alike are serving up top marks.

Indeed, with showrunners Graham Wagner and Geneva Robertson-Dworet proving to have a firm grasp on games’ specific concoction of comedy, combat, and worldbuilding, Fallout is proving to be every bit of the hit that we all expected it to be, and an official announcement for a second season shouldn’t be far off.

Anchoring these story beats are the trio of Lucy MacLean, a plucky, genial Vault Dweller who sets foot in the Wasteland to find her kidnapped father; Maximus, a Brotherhood of Steel squire looking to prove himself as an honorable soldier; and The Ghoul, a several-hundred-year-old gunslinger who was once a popular Western movie star before the bombs fell upon America, where he’s been drifting as a mutant ever since.

And of the three, The Ghoul has to be the show’s definitive scene-stealer, and it’s not hard to see why.

Who plays The Ghoul in Fallout?

The Ghoul is portrayed by none other than Emmy nominee Walton Goggins, the actor known for his work on Justified and Invincible, and in such films as Ant-Man and the Wasp and The Hateful Eight.

Needless to say, Goggins is among the deepest wells of talent among the Fallout cast, further evidenced by the manner in which he balances The Ghoul’s trigger-happy code of honor with the charming snark and mercurial agenda of a classic bounty hunter.

In the recent renaissance of video game adaptions, Fallout has been one of the more sought-after properties. Distributed by Bethesda, the series has had a long history of faithful players.

Before it was even tapped for adaptation at Amazon Prime, the games had a lot going for it. Melding the aesthetics of a dystopian background with the retro vibe of the 1950s, Fallout was easily marketable. There have been a myriad of games in the Fallout universe since it first debuted in 1997, each with varying quality. Fallout 4 is one of the most notable of the franchise, where players emerge from cryosleep after nuclear devastation. They leave the Vault that has kept them safe underground to search for their missing child. 

Amazon Prime’s series doesn’t pull from any one storyline specifically, instead opting to place original characters in the world. The new series stars Ella Purnell as Lucy, a naive Vault dweller who was one of the fortunate to be born in relative safety — no matter what the cost. She accepts her purpose of procreation in order to keep the human race thriving. She ultimately goes to the surface and learns that the world is not what she thought it was and encounters, of all things, Walton Goggins’ ghoul character. Helmed by Westworld creator Jonathan Nolan, Fallout has earned well-deserved excitement from its fans. But is that enough to keep the series going for another season?

Has Fallout been greenlit for season 2?

Love for the Fallout franchise doesn’t seem to be misplaced. Variety reports that the dystopian series has already been greenlit for season 2. This is largely in part thanks to the current tax incentives that were awarded to many shows. The California Film Commission has allotted $152 million to several television shows across the board that will be filming in the state. The production of Fallout will move to California to take advantage of this incentive. Previously, filming took place in New York and Utah.

Fans can breathe easily, knowing the new series will have time to expand. Because of the constant influx of content, streaming platforms are often quick to cut the cord for high-budget series that aren’t performing high numbers immediately. Fallout appears to not fall into that camp. Already the ratings for season 1 have been more than generous. As of this writing, the series has a 91% on Rotten Tomatoes. Though not a definitive measurement by any stretch, it does inspire confidence in what is to come.

Nolan and his partner Lisa Joy have had success with adapting loved franchises in the past to the appreciation of critics and fans. The entirety of Fallout season 1 is currently streaming on Amazon Prime.

With Amazon Prime’s Fallout TV series right around the corner, it’s time to delve back into the post-apocalyptic world of the game to get us in the mood. 

The trailer dropped earlier today, and fans have been praising every aspect of it; they’ve stayed true to the games, right down to well-known game locations. The casting is great too — Walton Goggins as a ghoul, and Matt Berry as a Mr. Handy robot are unexpected choices, but they’re literally perfect. The trailer has so many Easter eggs to unpick, but eagle eyed fans have already spotted a reference to the first ever Fallout game with a sign reading “Shady Sands Public Library.”

What is Shady Sands?

For those who played the first Fallout game from 1997, the name will be all too familiar, as it was likely the very first town you came across after leaving the vault. In said town, you can find a number of characters who will give you some early game side quests that will allow you to level up and get some loot. You can also find Ian, who, for many players, was their first follower to them on their quest.

When the Vault Dweller first arrives Aradesh, the town leader, is suspicious of them, but his trust is earned after you save his daughter, Tandi. Tandi is an important figure in Fallout lore, but we’ll get into that in a bit.

Where is Shady Sands?

The first Fallout game takes place on the West coast of the U.S. particularly, Southern California. Shady Sands itself is likely somewhere between Los Angeles and San Francisco. So that makes sense that we’d see the location show up in the series, considering Todd Howard confirmed ages ago that the show would take place around Los Angeles. It would also be a nice nod to the original Interplay games to have the protagonist of the show visit Shady Sands first, the same way many players did back in ‘97.

Shady Sands and Fallout lore

The end of Fallout 1 explains that Tandi and her father would go on to found the New California Republic, “whose ideals spread across the land.” The NCR are a pretty important faction, especially in Fallout: New Vegas, and arguably they’re on the same level as the Brotherhood of Steel in of control over the wasteland. Anyways, Shady Sands would be the main base of operations for the NCR in Fallout 2 and beyond.

Considering the trailer seems to be set long after the events of the first couple of games, it’s likely we won’t see characters such as Aradesh and Tandi. However, it’s certainly possible we’ll get to see some NCR rangers walking around the town. We now know that the show is set in the same universe as the games, so we’ll hopefully see some references to Tandi, Aradesh, and the NCR, at the very least.

Against all odds, video game adaptations have reached a renaissance. While many adaptations have been maligned in the past, series such as The Last of Us have demonstrated that good stories really can happen.

Fallout is the next on the list for adaptation. Based on the highly successful video game franchise of the same name, the series plays into consumers’ fears about the end of the world. The game is inspired by post-1950s war culture and follows Vault Dwellers who, after surviving underground, must keep their bunker intact and fight off mutants.

The Amazon Prime series plays into the secluded life of a Vault Dweller as Lucy (Ella Purnell) is the first to journey out of the vault. She soon discovers that what her community believed could not be further from the truth. Outside, the world is a nuclear wasteland with remaining humans, robots, and ghouls, of course. Starring alongside Purnell is the incomparable Walton Goggins (Justified, Vice Principals, The Hateful Eight), whose bounty hunter character is a familiar face from the games.

Who is the ghoul in Fallout?

In the Fallout games, ghouls are a common sight to see. At one time, they had been human, having since been ravaged by radiation, which has also given them an extremely long life. Though some are no more than monsters, others have retained their humanity. Goggins is one of the latter. The actor explained in a preview for the new trailer, via Polygon, that his character bridges the gap between pre and post-apocalypse.

Before the nuclear devastation, Goggins’ character was a salesman by the name of Cooper Howard. He sold spaces in the Vault where survivors could avoid nuclear war. And there they stayed for 200 years. Howard evidently did not reap the benefits of his Vault spaces. Lucy encounters him in her present day as the ghoulish figure, whom Goggins describes as Virgil from Dante’s Inferno. He is there to guide the characters through this landscape while providing the charisma the actor is known for.

Unlike recent storyline character-driven adaptations, the Fallout show has original characters. Bethesda’s game doesn’t have a tightly knit emotional rollercoaster, such as Neil Druckmann’s harrowing story of love and loss in The Last of Us. The Amazon Prime series takes inspiration from the games, such as ghouls and characters from the Vault. Even so, the series seems to be on the right track so far. The trailer almost seamlessly replicates the feeling of the game, from the visual aesthetics to the music. Goggins is additionally a master of an actor who is perfect for the role.

The last major update we got on limited series Justified: City Primeval came back in February when it was revealed that none other than Quentin Tarantino was in talks to direct an episode or two, which made sense when he’d adapted author Elmore Leonard’s Rum Punch as Jackie Brown, while star and executive producer Timothy Olyphant starred in the filmmaker’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

There hasn’t been any news on whether or not the two-time Academy Award winner has officially committed to the project as of yet, but if he does, then he’ll know exactly who comprises the cast after a raft of new additions were made to the ensemble.

King Richard‘s Aunjanue Ellis, Logan and The Predator‘s Boyd Holbrook,, Daredevil‘s Vondie Curtis Hall, Adelaide Clemens, Marin Ireland, Norbert Leo Butz, Victor Williams, and Vivian Olyphant are all on board, but one major name is still very conspicuous by their absence.

The entirety of Justified‘s six-season arc was in part driven by the dynamic between Olyphant’s Raylan Givens and Goggins’ Crowder, who dug coal together in their youth before taking very different paths later in life. The redneck outlaw was still alive at the end of the series finale, but his involvement remains up in the air.

Justified: City Primeval will pick up eight years after the show, with Raylan on thee hunt for a violent felon known as the Oklahoma Wildman, taking him to back to the rough and tumble criminal underworld of Detroit, and is expected to premiere next year.

According to a report by Variety, Jonathan Nolan’s Kilter Films has just bagged Walton Goggins as one of the main leads for the live-action adaptation of Fallout, set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video.

It appears that Goggins’ character will be based on a Ghoul, Fallout‘s beast-like creatures who have mutated from human form due to elongated radiation exposure. The Justified star previously appeared as the primary antagonistic figure in 2018’s Tomb Raider, so this won’t be his first role in a video game adaptation.

Amazon’s Fallout series, based on a video game franchise of the same name, has been in development for a while. Jonathan Nolan and his wife Lisa Joy (Westworld) will serve as executive producers, while Bethesda Softworks’ own Todd Howard, who directed Fallout 3 and Fallout 4, will also be involved in some capacity.

The story is set on an alternate version of Earth, which gets destroyed by nuclear war. The surviving humans, who take shelter in nuclear bunkers, emerge after many years to find the human civilization in utter ruin. Every Fallout game revolves around a specific event set in this post-apocalyptic world, so it’ll be interesting to see whether Nolan will adapt one of the games, or put a unique spin on the story by penning his own narrative.

Fallout is in the earliest stages of production, meaning that it’ll certainly be a while before we hear anything more about the project. Walton Goggins is the first announced cast member, but others will no doubt follow as Kilter films inches closer to filming, which is supposed to start later this year.
