DC Universe Streaming Service Details Finally Emerge

ittedly, I’ve never seen reason to subscribe to any sort of streaming service, but the DC Universe initiative may change that. Boasting animated series such as Young Justice: Outsiders and Harley Quinn, the live action side of things won't be ignored, for Titans, Doom Patrol and Swamp Thing are along for the ride. Needless to say, that’s a whole lot of incentive to sign up.

Now, after months of speculating what else may be included in the package, Warner Bros. are finally ready to pull back the curtain on this bad boy.

In addition to the shows listed above, subscribers will have a veritable library of classic DC multimedia content at their fingertips. Naturally, movies will be included in that sweet deal, with Christopher Reeve’s Superman films, Batman Begins and Tim Burton’s contributions to the Caped Crusader’s legacy taking part. What’s more is that fan favorite animated flicks like Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths and Superman/Batman: Public Enemies will also be there for consumption.

On top of that, you’ll gain access to TV shows such as Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Batman: The Animated Series and Super Friends. I also couldn’t help but notice that Constantine was inserted into the launch trailer, so be sure to check out the standalone series that paved the way for the demonologist’s adventures in the Arrowverse once you have the time to spare.

If that weren’t enough, thousands of digital comics will be available to digest, ranging from 1938’s Action Comics #1 all the way up to key entries in 2011’s New 52 relaunch like Justice League #1 and Harley Quinn #1. Furthermore, there’ll be a community space, a storefront to buy exclusive merchandise, a DC Encyclopedia, and, to top it off, breaking news being posted on a regular basis.

DC Universe is set to launch sometime this fall via iOS, Android, Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and Android TV, in addition to offering online and mobile access. But before going whole hog, a beta test is expected to takeoff in August, so stay tuned as more details emerge.
